Well said Ajames and BigLad.
In fairness DB said B1 was on target and it made sense to do EWT and B1 together. He also said he needed some crews from Holland to come in and do a couple of operations.. So might not be exclusive to Schlumberger. Marriott did the A2 EWT which got suspended. Maybe the Schlumberger crew will be augmented with some of the Marriott crew. We used them in the past and it's a big enough operation.
At the end of the day.. It doesn't matter. Let's not try and teach the operators and partners to suck eggs on our office chairs lol. Let them operate and hopefully strike good in B1.

Let’s remember Shell is Netherlands biggest gas producer from Zechstein reservoirs. In fact, while exploring the Zechstein play at Groningen in 1959 they drilled a few tens of metres deep and stumbled into the Rotliegendes sandstone with triggered the Southern North Sea industry. So they’ve been at it for a couple of decades longer that UKCS.
Operators in Netherlands have also pioneered the use of H2S scrubbers and small de-sulphurisation plants commonly associated with Zechstein gas. Maybe H2S was the source of the ‘odor’ during the first WN test followed by the Environment Agency investigation.
An H2S scrubber features in the upcoming WN EWT, although not mentioned by the operator.
DB doesn't want A crew he wants the BEST crew for the job in hand.
That crew is based in Holland.
"Bit curious about this part. Why, if UK has many years of Oil and Gas experience, onshore and offshore, do we need crews from the Netherlands? What specialist skills do they have that are not available in the UK, especially after recent cut backs in that sector?"
Maybe they submitted the best value tender for the specified work. Most oilcos do use a tendering process for best value.

Great Interview @DavidBurton1971, @TMSreach & Sarah Lowther with David Bramhill #UJO
Key Highlights below
West Newton -
- Prove Kirkham extends & we have 'the tiger by the tail'
- Will transform Reabold, Rathin and UJO
- Something you would expect BP or SHELL to HAVE!!!
Embarrassment of riches
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
SL - Sarah Lowther - Total Market Solutions
DB - David Bramhill - Union Jack Oil
DB - we had a few Rodeo Years but now its coming together
Keddington - 55 % upgraded very quickly with a side track
SL - Bisc - 30% Economic interest - its still unapprised.. How can you be sure.
DB - Dilled in 1987 by BP and they found oil. We drilled last year and missed target due to alluvium skewing seismic which is now reinterpreted give us 2 or 3 excellent drill sites - particular hope for one particular horizon - the Basal Westphalian - aka the Bisc prospect itself
DB - When they drilled they got a large section of gas but logs didn’t show much… but found a 57m oil column in the Dinantian . Took them by surprise. APT (do work for Exon) did the analysis and there is an oil column. More than just a hunch… Dinantian is definitely there. Side track will be look at both horizons
DB - Never get it right first time. You need to be lucky. You need to learn and go again.
SL - You need lots of money DB - yes we have lots of money
West Newton is fully funded -
DB - Roofers is still up there in West Newton with his drones - LMAO ;-)
DB - Drill B1 next - if we can prove the Kirkham abbey extends we have 'the tiger by the tail'. It will transform Reabold, Rathin and UJO as they are only 3 parties involved.
SL - International movement of equipment - what is this -
DB - we need some crews to come in from Holland. Not 'delayed' just makes sense to bring it all together with EWT and B1. Saves money.
DB - Wressle - Started with 8% of Wressle which is a discovery. Now have 40%. Moving ahead to transform from drill site to production site. On target for first oil in Oct - gives us 200 BOOPD
SL - which is the favourite child…. DB - Wressle was the first discovery. If you asked what could be the biggest, well that would be West Newton at the moment. This is something you would expect BP or SHELL to HAVE!!!
DB - BISC - is unexplored and there is a massive oil column in the Dinantian . Keddington keeps pumping away over 20 years .. No sign of water.. Just need a side track and more to give.
DB - Grown from 3 mil MCAP to 42 MCAP. There is money and investors with money for the right projects
