Sorry using a small phone typos....
Corby....simple answer...well tested over years. The mms scare pi's sh/tless. And they do it again and again and again. And investors NEVER learn. As the price drops, stop loss triggers even bigger losses causeing the weak and nervous to panic sell. Some investors are so inept at investing they make the same mistake regularly and can go broke and end up never coming back.
Mms know how to trap you into buying high and sell at a loss. They NEVER lose
Sorry for previous post typos.
Corby....simple answer...well tedted ovet years. S are pi's sh/tless. Abd they do it again and again and again. And investirs NEVER learn. I get the principle but it seems a gamble, as if the MM are looking to gain stock (which is the sentiment or belief that went hand in hand with the proponents of the 'shake the tree' argument, then how to the MMs know whether a high price or low price will cause people to sell? The way it was spoken of here, admittedly by others who I now regard as discredited anyway, the MM offer to buy/sell at a lower price as a sure-fire, always a winner, method to gain stock.
Corby, the logic behind it is that by lowering the SP, investors lacking in confidence will sell their shares as they fear they will lose even more money or bad news has occurred in order to drop the price.
The other common statement is that the SP is dropped to try and trigger stop losses in order to gain shares.
Can't answer if its a myth or how often it is done though.
I see nobody offered an explanation? I presume it's a myth, therefore.
I saw you coming Steadydanny. lol
Max are you actually stable? I get concerned when someone would take a comment completely out of context for your own personal gratification.
Your type of posting is erratic and worrying.
I will leave you be
I will take your advice Steadydanny of your last post:
"In the voice of Mr T.
Dont read the fool, fool. They fools!"
You are definitely a fool!
Going by the new de-rampers on our board, get ready for another tree-shake
BUY MODE!
Max? I'm a what? Have you appointed yourself as some kind of leader on here?
If you check past comments on here including Caribbean you may want to wind your neck in.
Best regards Steadydanny
You are another one Steadydanny.
See what I mean.

Quite a difference of shares bought and sold
I wouldn't get excited about the Chinese as buyers. They are trying to disrupt the Australian economy. Just look at what they did/are doing with barley and coal that was destined for the chinese market.
I think given Trumps rare mineral executive order that the USA would be a strong customer.
My goal is to get the big whales that are buying in lots of £178,000 off-book, to pay top dollar.
If they want to sell our Copper, Silver & Iron Ore to the Chinese, we are not going to accept peanuts! Simple.
As I said before, one thing I have learnt by myself from constantly reading this board is:
New people on board de-ramping = BUY MODE!
Because, why else would they come?
We saw you coming this time! lol
Might the originators of the MM drive price low to gain stock line now being trotted out by others too be able, please, to explain how that works? Surely a low price encourages people to buy, and the MM lose stock not gain it? To encourage people to sell you something you surely need offer a higher price, not a lower? Can I buy your house, I'll give you £100,000 for it? No. Ok, well will you sell at 2.0p then?
