The fourth musketeer may have re-appeared today! I have the raw data , now I have to process it and see what I get!
This talk of green hydrogen is misleading!
For me, it is extremely lightweight posts (atomic number 1) that are filtered and thus appear in green!
Green, brown or any other colour in a power plant that is producing electricity from solar and CBM is so debatable! The electricity reaching the tx lines or the hydrogen plant is identical!
Green or brown or blue ions are all invisible!
Which ones will produce our hydrogen? We are committed to both power sources eventually.
If some carbon escapes into the atmosphere then it is expected!
I read that Methane pollution, and there is loads of it escaping all over the place, dissipates in time and is therefore less of a threat to the climate than most pollution.
Bitcoin crash today , after Elon Musk , withdrew the ability to buy Tesla cars with it , was interesting. He is upset how much pollution from coal fired power stations is used in Bitcoin mining ...... I wonder what he thinks about CBM? Fossil fuel or not? If all crypto-currencies are affected there may be lots of ex-Bitcoin type money looking for somewhere to be invested?
Haha - the best one yet! A positivity lecture from Marvin the Android. But you're right, on two things actually. One, correct, I would not take your word on anything, two, I do have better things to do with my time. Therefore I won't take up any more board space, leave you to your machinations, and go and watch some Jeremy Kyle repeats; I suspect you might be on it.
App - was I trashing the stock or trashing the posters that were trying to over-hype the stock? Quite a difference if you think it through. Something not so many here seem to have as a natural ability ....
If, and it is a big IF, my investment here is a failed investment, maybe again try to think through how many are in the same boat. As well as who bought when, and for how much, and who has had to $ cost average along the way a lot (and a little), ....
And, while you will not take my word on this, trust me when I say I am very relaxed about my position here, and it’s potential.
If only you guys would realise fighting with someone who called it over-hyped 4 years ago makes no sense. The price graph doesn’t lie; the multiple fund raises don’t lie; the share price today/ this week/month don’t lie. We buy for future performance - not past dismal failures. Is it because so many here see their position as akin to an investment ‘dismal failure’ that rather than face up to your own P&L realities you would rather try shooting the messenger who basically ‘told y’all so’.
Let it go man, you will find you are so much more positive energy for better things in your life.....
Wow - the hypocricy in that post so palpable it's almost solid. Rodin could sculpt it and call it the ****-take. I'm not the one who's spent years on various platforms trashing a stock that I wasn't even invested in and insulting the people that disagreed with me. Generally I'm a fairly mild mannered kind of bloke - but I won't suffer charlatans. You should be ashamed of yourself.
App - why do you have to insult so much? Get a life.
Pretty much everything is down today on worries about inflation!
Another failed investment eh Moagi? Nevermind. A half decent psychoanalyst would win a Nobel prize on the back of your forum posts.
Well I suppose it is good to talk about alternate energy and even the price of fish - while we wait, wonder and hope that the company makes progress on things that are relevant to its reasonably immediate strategy and (hopefully in the next 2-3 years) commercial success.
Share price below 3p - nobody was expecting that I fancy. Not even me.
HotB2, yes - the process you refer to (the electrolysis of water) is entirely possible with methane as the fuel to drive the (endothermic) reaction. It is not a particularly cost effective process though. The carbon emissions from this process probably makes it "grey" hydrogen (me thinks).
There are some clever new technologies coming through - some chasing "green" hydrogen and some "blue" hydrogen. Both are zero-carbon emission processes but I have no clue of the economics of these processes.
Wikipedia has a nice summary of the various hydrogen options at
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_production
Exciting stuff!!
Reality check indeed HB - and we're putting the cart before the horse. However, still interesting stuff and nothing wrong with hypothesising potential. Priorities first tough - It's now been a month since they announced the tender companies. They stated the raise gave them control over the initial phase - I'd like to see an announcement of the commencement of groundworks ASAP.
Nice link, Appiamma, and a new one on me. Without sounding too over excited, does that also mean a saleable bi-product in the form of graphitic carbon?
Reality hat back on, I wonder how far away we are from industrial scale plant to achieve this. Tlou aside, truly green energy is looking a real possibilty in the years to come.
Hotburrito. Initially I thought the same as you - that they were talking about using the solar to produce hydrogen from water - using either electrolysis or water spliting. As you say this is green hydrogen. But I thought why not just sell the power? They could do this process off-peak I guess - but even so. Then Tlou tweeted this a while back:
'The #Hydrogen potential for @TlouEnergy given huge #CBM reserves (methane = CH4) plus a strategic location with highest solar incidence for #SolarPV generation. All mining and related permits achieved.
This made me think they were talking about hydrogen from methane- which I guess if they have loads of excess gas could make more sense. But as stated not green unless using carbon capture. I went looking at the time and I found these articles below which explain various processes. The second describes a new virtually carbon free process.

OldBallie
Just a question on your comment below
"I also know that green hydrogen cannot be made from methane or from solar PV or from a combination of the two because every methane molecule contains carbon."
I get the thing about carbon in methane, but I think you may be misunderstanding the proposed process. The methane is not intended as the source of the hydrogen, it is the energy source to take hydrogen from water. I would agree that this isn't a particularly green option, but to use solar involves no carbon.
Energy (solar elec) + 2 x H20 == 2 x H2 + O2
Is it some form of badge of honour that so many posters here talk about the posts of those they have filtered....
If you filter someone, eemmm it means you don’t wNr to read what they have to say. Except here, you filter someone then every so often check out who has been saying what, then rant about their posts, and then say you have filtered them again.
Now maybe I am the stupid one here BUT who are the strange ones in this scenario.
Nice to hear of your genuine concern Brad, but (I think) I'm still here. I may have contributed to my own thread being deleted, my reference to buckler as a f**kwit was a tad unfair. I think he's more intelligent than that, but he is sad to an even greater extent. Of his posts that I saw, he offered nothing objective or of any value.
Buckler, I hope you're ok, I mean really ok, something obviously eats you up inside and you feel better for a good rant here. If it helps you, I'm happy for you, but there may be better, more constructive forms of therapy available.
Still filtered, tho.
Good questions OB. I know I am waiting with great interest to read replies.
It does seem Mr Smith likes to keep himself busy with conspiracy theories.
The bad news Whizzer, is Admin have pruned a lot of posts and seem to have given a green light to off topic chat which remains. Hotburritono2 caused me some concern, I could not find any of his posts and I would have been gutted if all I achieved was his being banned. My search engine came to my rescue and showed me the actual spelling! TLK's marooned episode survived - quite rightly!
Mr. Smith, I wish you well in proving that there is an unholy trinity at work here.
Maybe stay away from the personal insults and tell us:
1) to whom Tlou will sell the electricity from the solar PV plant;
2) how one makes "green" hydrogen from solar and / or methane?; and
3) how one raise finance without a commercially acceptable PPA from a counter-party with a credit rating that is good for the next 20 years.
If you respond with more personal attacks, obfuscation or general hogwash, I put it to you that you cannot answer 3 very simple but very pertinent questions.
I also put it to you that the other good people on this notice board look forward to your answer.
I’m happy they are keeping brad away from posting so much to be honest! It’s a bit of welcome relief at the moment while we all wait for news!
Bucklerfarm , MR M and oldB have similar rhetoric ... so may be from the same investment club chat room
Fascinating how three separate entities all protesteth too much!
It would be hard to find 3 posters who would all respond if they were mentioned is dispatches (I hope they will be dispatched) ..... but all three here deny they are the other two in their respective styles! I'm compiling evidence of how they are the same person , and proof that other combinations of poster are different people. It is coming along well and is more rewarding than these pages.
I apologise to everybody else on here, I underestimated the reaction to my reporting the clown.
Back to my research , I hope you have a more peaceful day.
Must have been a full moon last night
LOL! I missed all the fun yesterday!
OldBallie (me) is persona non grata in Mr Smith's world because I buy and sell based on a fundamental analysis of the stock. So in my world a commercially acceptable PPA is key to unlocking value. Mr. Smith does not attach value to a PPA.
I also know that there is only one buyer of electricity in Botswana - that being BPC. Nobody else by law. I.e. electricity from solar PV cannot be sold to anybody but BPC and they buy theirs through auctioned procurement programmes. Mr. Smith believes people are going to queue up to buy electricity from solar PV directly from Tlou.
I also know that green hydrogen cannot be made from methane or from solar PV or from a combination of the two because every methane molecule contains carbon. Mr. Smith has already Tlou selling green hydrogen to the world.
So, the long and the short of it is that Mr Smith and I live in 2 different worlds. He believes the the share should be talked up and he is happy to spread falsehoods to achieve his aim. I believe the share will react to events and facts. And in Mr Smith's convoluted world anybody from my world, is persona non grata. Which, of course, is just fine with me.
Never posted or exchanged with the guy/gal in my life. Is this person also a persona non grata simply because they do not agree with you? I have no clue. But I can tell you this. You keep playing the same game and you will get your arse handed to you.
