Comparisons with Debenhams are very helpful to those who may be being seduced into buying shares. I think it highly unlikely that the action on Debenhams will produce any beneficial outcome to shareholders, it really is clutching at straws. Things were much worse on the Afren front and that had no benefit for shareholders.
Huge jump in the big vulture funds shorting Thomas Cook shares. I did mention this a few weeks ago to keep an eye out on the big boys and how they react.
The big boys and the debt holders are wanting this to go into administration they are making a fortune on the back of the shareholders.
Shares heading to 1P in my opinion.
We have heard about Lufthansa and Virgin why have we not heard of the others?
and if they do sell the airline how much will they get? The loan which is very short term only 9 months is dependent on the sale so it means that TC are under a lot of pressure to sell = not a good bargaining position
Also once the airline goes what does that mean for future results?
Hopefully all the bad news for TCG is now in the open and when they sell the airline - the BOD says that they have had a lot of offers for "all or part" of the airline and the new loan is dependent on selling so a RNS combining a sale and new loan should boost the SP

Comparisons with DEB are surely not helpful. We're all still reeling from that. There's a Supreme Court case going through that may materially change things though , and it is being discussed on the [still live] DEB board.
It would apply here as well as if the Supreme Court rules in favour of the APPG's motion, then it will radically alter the ease with which a company can be put into administration, or the way bondholders can take over shareholders assets.
Very true. So many similarities with Debenhams and the post administration Board had some sad stories of individuals who continually averaged down in the expectation of the huge recovery that some predicted and lost a lot of money. This business is in real trouble and the owners of secured debt hold most of the cards.
Much of this reminds me of Deb. The creditors are firmly in control and wipeout for equity holders is on the table now. Longs really gotta think hard now about cutting losses while they still can.

yes agree with you there , it should be lower given the news
You could be right but I don't think it will be 15p when they sell the airline business, if it was going that low it would be there now and it's not in fact it's starting to go back up and by the end of today back to 20p+
