Barny-B You posted the message bellow on here on the 5th of August
All the bad news is out now... remaining furloughed drivers have been brought back, footfall and income gradually rising each week, schools returning at end of month.... only way is up now... topped up my share isa yesterday with stagecoach shares....just wish I had more cash... " The Only Way Is Up Now " I take it you sold out and are now regretting it
There’s some delusional characters on here that believe the sp for stagecoach is on a one way trajectory.... I beg to differ...
Hi - I'm interested in investing in stagecoach. I like the company/management/sp, my only concern is the time it takes to get back to pre-pandemic levels. How many people will they realistically allow back on a bus, a contained area for a long period of time even when most (75%? by end of July) the population have the vaccine ? Lets say they are generous and call it 50% to begin with allowed on the bus and even those must have a green card saying they have had the vaccine? They are still contending with the same operating costs. But at this SP that feels about right so as I say...I am tempted.
Am thinking of buying more this stock. £1.30 easy already have made over 3 grand plus on the price rise
Your very optimistic CHRI55 :) I think it is looking promising the next few months with staycations adding to the optimism. Good luck all :)
Thank you Trent700
Welcome on board andecc
I've been doing a bit of research and like the sound of this share so bought in with £3k for the first time this afternoon. Hopefully it will be a profitable journey (sorry for the pun).
You can't go wrong buying this stock keeping topping up. Am also happy with ldg another one to watch.
Nice to see a director buying even though only a small amount - they have more insight than any of us in terms of the prospects going forward for the business - down on my 90p purchase atm but well well up on my 74p average - looking forward to next week - should be some good sentiment re vaccines etc - gla and good weekend
dyor etc
According to The Times government ministers are considering allowing families from the same household to go on holidays from the Easter break.
This means Brits would at least be able to enjoy a holiday in England while international travel is likely to still be on hold.
This stock is a licence to print money can only rise 1.30 easy
In my humble view i'd say it was only the rural areas seeing very low passenger numbers.
I commute daily by bus in to Brighton and can verify the bus is all was at capacity AM / PM and in some cases above the 30 limit (no one complaining either).
Government likely to push for staycations. Apart from the risk of Covid UK has a huge tourism deficit , with 88% of that (ie. about £30.04 billion) due to air travel.
Definitely good for SGC.
hxxps://www.airportwatch.org.uk/2020/05/uk-had-a-tourism-deficit-of-33-9-billion-in-2019-with-88-of-that-ie-about-29-8-billion-due-to-air-travel/
CHRI55 = what a deramping muppet.
One minute he's saying he's sold out is watching from the sidelines due to fear of different strains, the next minute he's telling someone else to be patient! I don't think he's being entirely 'STREIGHT' with us, as he likes to spell it. Lol.

Once the lockdown ends, transport sector will be the first to benefit. Buses are a necessity not luxury.
Country has been in debt way worse than this relative to GDP multiple times before during crisis. What happens after crisis? Boom.
All the stuff about "running empty" during a literal lockdown etc is irrelevant when the govt are bankrolling the company.
Recovery will take 5 years plus except FTSE 350 is now only 8% down on pre-covid (brexit) and S&P 500 is 16% up...
The last point simply makes no sense. The NHS funding is not relevant to the bus company at all in any way. The govt will reduce support when we are back to normal and have proper revenue stream, which is exactly what we want to happen...
They are running empty in the cities too...I know because I work in 2 of them. Out of the entire country only London is currently profitable for stagecoach... Many companies sp plummeted last March on the outbreak of Covid, so you could have earned more profits had you invested elsewhere other than stagecoach... The country is currently trillions in debt and rising, anyone who thinks this is sustainable needs to be hit by a bus for a massive wake up call.. recovery will take 5 years plus.. taxpayers money will be channeled back into the NHS for all those people who’ve had healthcare and operations cancelled because of Covid, long before a loss making bus company..
Barney empty buses bobbing up and down in the countryside, if you didn't notice we are in lockdown. Even in London we are only meant to take a maximum of 30 passengers so it is hardly surprising but things will start to get better very soon. I look forward to Boris's announcement on Monday.
Once covid is under control and social distancing is relaxed everyone ones gonna want to go out after being sick in for the last year. There will be a boom in bars and clubs
Added at 90p
gl dyor etc
Your right Barney at the moment they are surviving on Govt funding but that is because bus services are essential part of the country’s infrastructure. The govt have pledged to support until no longer required for that very reason so that’s good enough for me!
Working from home and online shopping has escalated and will impact long term and your right there may be redundancies but SGC will be around for a very long time and back in profit soon IMO. Good luck all!
Not a chance in hell of them returning to pre Covid prices.... excluding London, company is losing revenue hand over fist.... the amount each driver takes at my depot doesn’t even cover their wage..... some days less than a tenner..... busses bobbing up and down empty in the countryside do not generate money.... taxpayers money will not continue to fund this farce..... the only reason stagecoach remain in existence is taxpayers money and millions of it.... sooner or later this will come to a halt... they are already discussing more redundancies..... so carry on dreaming peeps....
