A new week with still plenty of question marks.
Let's hope it is better than the previous 3 weeks.
The Call-in Status PDF seems to get updated every Friday Afternoon
I am guessing if the call in is rejected then the SP will jump quite quickly.
If the call in is accepted then the opposite obviously.
GFG is main reason over past few weeks why the MM have made their profit playing on the rumours and speculation.
This will be edged and then if/when the bounce back happens the cash in will start from them.
In a way you can see why Reddit boom happened....
Yesterday's gains have all but gone.
Defo think MMs and the daytraders are making gains and then dropping.
CustomerHelp@gov.wales
That's a much more helpful response than I received when I contacted them. Doesn't sound like it should be too long. Thanks for posting Strangy.
Which email address did you contact to get that response?
Yes I know.
Just been in contact with Welsh Government person ref Call in.
Dear Mr -------
"""Once the case officer has drafted a report on a call-in request, it is submitted to senior officers for quality assurance and clearance before a final decision is requested from the Minister. The change in status on the website indicates a draft of the report has been submitted for clearance"""
Strangy83, if the government understand that perfect is the enemy of good then that has to be fantastic news for the Uskmouth Power Station Conversion Project.
Uskmouth is an imperfect step towards better. And it is an imperfect step that can be improved over time with addition of carbon capture. It is positive funding is being made available for development of same.
That the real value is in Tidal should be as obvious to those in power as it is to us. Support SUP and they can ensure SAE have ability to develop and grow.
Reasons to be confident but really just a waiting game now.
I think the rhetoric may be right but the start of this for South Wales and SAE as well as CC is the USP.
This is what I think may kick start the process for SAE and may lead to Tidal projects and other renewable energy plans within the areas.
Would like to see what people think?
Also are we any closer to a decision on the call in?
I should have added for those that don't click the link:
Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said:
"While reaching our climate targets will require extensive change across our economy, we must do so in a way that protects jobs, creates new industries and attracts inward investment - without pushing emissions and business abroad."
Sounds good...
chasable, if you haven't seen take a look at:
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/major-blueprint-to-create-green-jobs-and-slash-emissions-from-industry-schools-and-hospitals
Government at least giving the impression of being serious about need for a greener industry but understanding challenges involved...
Other key commitments within the Strategy include:
"to work with the recently re-constituted Steel Council to consider the implications of the recommendation of the Climate Change Committee to ‘set targets for ore-based steelmaking to reach near-zero emissions by 2035’
"South Wales
Nearly £20 million will go to the South Wales Industrial Cluster which aims to create a net zero industrial zone from Pembrokeshire to the Welsh/English border by 2040, which will open up opportunities for South Wales to become a leader in decarbonised industrial and economic growth. The project will look at options to support the deployment of hydrogen across regions and to develop carbon capture, usage and storage. South Wales industry produces nearly 9 million tonnes of carbon each year – 12% of UK’s industry’s total. The project will therefore create a sustainable plan for the region, through the production and distribution of hydrogen, cleaner electricity production using carbon capture and/or hydrogen-rich natural gas and large industry decarbonisation through fuel switching and the production of cleaner transportation fuels."
That SAE can play a role is demonstrated by news yesterday of grant:
https://simecatlantis.com/2021/03/17/decarbonising-industry-in-south-wales-carbon-capture/
If I am correct I think that was from Labour challenging the support for infrastructure going forward.
I agree with the need to have a thriving specialised steel part within the UK that supports the push to 2050 with Environmental improvements across the board.
The talk this morning is of semi-narionalisation of liberty steel. Not sure what that means for gfg and SAE but it increasingly looks as though the steel industry will not be allowed to fail, and that ,on the face of it doesn't sound like bad news
Let's see what happens when the bell rings at 8am.
I still feel that the call in is the next turning point either way.
Don't know what is happening with GFG.
I would like to know what people think would happen should Simec part of GFG decide to sell SAE as a going concern.
Also what peoples thoughts are of about GFG staying in charge of the group and SAE?
There seems to be a lot more activity buying and selling. Could be an upward or downward bounce coming...
Let's see what happens with the Call In?
Try socials. Perhaps now is a precarious time for a RNS and even positive intended RNS can have negative effects, Silence is usually golden if it doesn’t need saying. IMHO.
They have said a little on LinkedIn.
I think it would be nice for an RNS giving positives about tidal at Meygen and Japan.
USP still no news yet...
The SP is hanging around 11.20 to 11.5 so let's hope this is the bottom?
Stay safe
We shall see at 8:15 onwards.
"Massive 2% increase.
Only kidding. Is the bottom or is this a semi reprieve?"
Flip a coin you'll have 50/50 chance of being right and just as good a chance of being right as anyone else lol
This is what I don't get.
No research?
Just blagging.
But always negative. Now normally that would be cos they have been stung and lost something or it might be that they just want to pull down everything as much as possible
So if they were an investor then I could get that if they had been invested for some time and they felt that the company was doing things wrong or not enough.
An example would be the so called SUP bonfire.
Probably for their best reasons they see this as not positive.
Therefore point taken but it seems to go deeper.
Not constructive is giving advice about banana skins etc but blatant deramping.
As I have asked before ...Are they invested.
No reply.
I feel that they are wet behind the ears and very naive in just throwing more wood in the bonfire.
It is as if they cannot have a constructive chat or similar.
Insinuations and so on.
Any way welcome back chaps.
Just filter you know who?
Keeping a close eye on events strangy on coming back in but hard to post anything without getting a total negative response from you know who
Massive 2% increase.
Only kidding. Is the bottom or is this a semi reprieve?
