Arsenal17, I'm sure your correct, Madas does get stuck in at these times. My understanding is he hasn't commented for some while though?
Red he will be on the Picket Line ,LOL
Isle, "Where are you mad?"
You must be "upping the anti" calling on the big guns.
Actually, I have also wondered where Madas is? He would normally be deep into the Fray.
Then I realised he must be a bit embarrassed to admit being persuaded by my reasoning ;-)
Or maybe moved on to pastures greener?
unite union- advice to Royal Mail members.....
https://www.unitetheunion.org/campaigns/royal-mail-save-our-service/advice-to-royal-mail-members/
Interesting read?
@ wolvesposty.
"I believe the figures are massaged"
"If Thompson had any sense"
"One word for him is INEPT"
Stand back people. Militant in training. LOL.
You ain't after my job are you?
Or maybe, just maybe, you are trying to take the place of madasaballoon? Where are you mad?
Cretin? Now who's getting personal ?
Calm down mate !!
Phunt73 - So rather than have a civil conversation about the negotiations, resort to personal attacks and avoid the questions? Sounds reasonable.
AS , when did I personally attack you??
I have no idea what the changes were , but I don't have to . My union reps tell me they are unworkable and I have nonreason to doubt what they tell me , I pay them to work in my best interest and in the 27 years I've been a member I've always been happy with what they have got me.
Just because you used to be in a union doesn't mean you wouldn't be anti union now you're a shareholder, in fact it's more Likely that you would be as unions and shareholders go together like toasters and forks.
"Yes, me and Simon Thompson are one and the same (lol). I don’t even know how to respond to that lol, so I won’t."
Of corse you won't because that's your m.o. when you can't argue with the truth you shut it down , you did the very same thing in the last debate we had remember .
royal mail figures of losing £1m a day in the first quarter were in respect very correct..... but and i say but... what quarter were they based on? the figures are massaged to suit... any economist can do that... if based on previous years quarter then do royal mail run a business based on a one off pandemic?... royal mail historically makes the bulk of earnings from september to february... lets see the next 9 months figures before we make any assumptions whether the figures are true.... i for one believe the figures are massaged to keep a pay rise low.... now if mr thompson had any sense he would have engaged in talks when asked in february he would have had an agreement@ 4%. now he has got one big battle on his hands with inflation at above 10% and rising.... my words for the man is INEPT.
So if you don't work for rm and you have no idea what the proposals are how can you so confidently say they are a fabricated myth??? I'll tell you why , because the cwu said it. And it's very clear that the majority of your posts are anti-union, but of corse you are because you're a shareholder. Your only interest here is to make money and the cwu is hampering that. You and ST are one in the same.
The 5.5% that would never be paid because it was dependant on target's that are impossible to achieve? That 5.5%?
Oh , and as an aside, as an employee and shareholder I would happily accept a no strings attached rise of 5-6% , as I think a lot would. I just hope that the cwu put it to a vote if that sort of figure is offered and not let us decide like the rail unions have done.
AS , every time someone says that 2% is not enough you constantly come back with how can a company that is losing money afford to pay more. Now I don't pretend to know how all the finances are figured out or reported but trust me when I say that isn't the first time that royal mail has published doom and gloom figures when it suits them , only to miraculously find some cash down the side of the sofa when they come out of the other side . Also , I always say we'll they shouldn't have payed themselves or shareholders as much if things were so bad. So I'm just asking that you maybe try and look at things from a different angle and maybe things aren't quite as bad as the RM rhetoric is suggesting. I think it was wolves that explained to you that the 1m loss a month is worded to make it sound worse that it is. Something to do with the time of year and comparing it to last year's figures that were unusually high due to covid. Honestly not having a pop , just my opinion.
but we are going to go down fighting to a man thats for sure.
A bit overly dramatic maybe. But 2%? You can shove that right up your **** Simon. And by the way...I consider myself anything but militant.
All rather disappointing in so many respects.
As a shareholder I will make a handsome return on my stock (I made nearly £20,000 profit last time the s.p spiked)...albeit perhaps in a year or two maybe...or perhaps when R.M sells off a minority stake in GLS.
But my feelings and thoughts as an employee?
Not very chuffed about how this whole lamentable affair has been brought about.
Treachery and deceit come foremost to mind.
I hope Kretinsky calls for a Special AGM and demands the whole board be sacked.
Greedy, good for nothing freeloaders!
I understand the need for change...but to impose a 2% payrise with inflation running at 10%? Did you expect the CWU to react to that well, Mr Thompson? Take it on the chin and move on?
I would rather take my chances with Kretinsky than this bunch of back-sliding idiots.
