Just to echo what GRH and Lancygeo have said, here in North Wales the landscape is battered with wind turbines. I can’t remember the last time I saw one in operation. It’s got to be weeks, maybe even months ago.
I think this is worth a 5 min read, not sure what anyone else will make of Ryan's comments but they are more guarded than those made a few days ago, I think the seriousness of the situation can no longer be confidently brushed aside..
Once the two power stations are fixed (within two months now back to be before winter, not 'in' winter) they are 'expected to see us through winter'. Contrast his comments against Kwasi Kwertang's on the same issue, they seem miles apart in confidence...
The heat is on...or off, as the cade maybe..

Lancy
I agree
we were in North Norfolk all last week
There is a large wind farm offshore Thornham/Brancaster
We are very used to seeing the turbine blades rotating slowly
This time...not one blade moved all week ...as far as I could tell
Same with a single turbine located at Swaffham en route
Not a sausage
Allowing energy dependency on so called (its not!) green solutions
without adequate back up
=
A strategic error of gargantuan proportions
If PRD can play this right, we are in for a treat
Regards
GRH
Had a trip out last Sunday down the M56 to the Wirral and noted that the wind turbines at Frodsham were completely motionless...… no change either on my return 3 hours later.
nic as soon as you said that my mouth started salivating. That would be beautiful.
People are beginning to wake up that there may just be a need for an alternative to alternative energy. Governments sure will when the natives get restless and they don't want to make up the financial shortfall. The backdrop for Predator along its licenses could not be more favourable.
It also makes funding easier when you see the backdrop that we are working in. PG has got the wind at his back. The Irish will be getting a lot more pragmatic about their philosophy now. PRD are also putting forward the most ecologically favourable routes to extract energy.
Meanwhile PG is putting his finance package for Morocco together. We have the next presentation coming up in days.
I like the idea of a PRD FSRU being used as a temporary stop gap. The fact that Ryan signed a contract (albeit since cancelled) for ESB to site six temporary generators outside Dublin proves there's now a market for very heavy duty energy supply back up.
Maybe not just in Ireland either.imagine a beautiful scenario where nations could be bidding to use our FRSU service. Maybe a particularly harsh winter is forecast or some global politicking resulting in a severe shortage of natural gas. It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.
And at the same time last weekend the proposed terminal site was being ‘ occupied’ by climate activists from around Ireland. Looks a rather pretty backdrop. The scale, visibility and ‘ permanence’ of this would be a bitter pill to swallow. To politicians called by reality to perform yet another 180 deg performance theres worse places too do it than a few miles offshore.
No s**t sherlock!

Really :-)
Not looking good for our Eamon ;-)
