anon3 the 29% divi is being interpreted that way due to the share price being so depressed
think of poly shares being £9 each and get a 10% dividend
consider that you are actually buying right now at approx £3.00 - but getting the same dividend
so basically when/if the price returns to £9 your £3.00 share trippled divi is in effect now 30%
if you see what I mean, I am never selling these share, keeping them for the divi for years to come
"Russia is employing laser weapons in its special operation in Ukraine, in particular, the Zadira laser system"
100% Bull Scrap! The US spent billions trying to develop these types of weapons and never managed to build a weapon powerful and mobile suitable for a battle field. If you are lucky you might blind someone like with a laser pointer. The UK navy used lasers to a limited extent on some warships in the Falklands flashing and momentarily distracting the Argentine pilots.
You have to focus a huge, a seriously huge amount of energy, to heat up a spot through 5 km of atmosphere enough for any kind of bun to begin. The air is constantly scattering and refracting the beam so the build of energy is constantly displaced, and reflected. Instead you try to pack the same energy in shorter pulses, which requires enormous amounts of power. Unless they are plugging directly into main transmission 80,000 volt lines, take this with a pinch of salt. Trust me, if these weapons could exist, they would be all over nato now.
Sagacity, agreed with all of that except the divi.
I don't think there's any way on earth they will pay a 29% divi.
Much more likely they'd pay any debt down or if they don't have any by then, use it for share buybacks.
I think you might get more like a 10% payout though and that would be nice.
It also leaves them plenty of room to increase it over time, as paying out a 29% divi would have to be seriously reduced as the SP rises, even if only % wise, which just wouldn't look good.
Just my opinion
Sagacity.
Everything you have mentioned in your post just about sums it all up nicely ( for all LTH )
Good post .Keep up the good work

Sagacity top post would be a great reply to the visiting trolls let them argue with that gla holders regards jack
Non Poly specific but...
A few years ago a friend of mine retired he had a decent-ish work pension but no state pension as such (UK), as it was a defined benefit pension he was opted out of SERPS.
The government introduced a scheme to cover this temporarily, for every £10,000 you paid into HMRC you got £2600 back in annual pension. He is tight with his money and refused to pay the extra in., I asked him to borrow it to find it I raged at him for missing the opportunity, I said you will never ever get an opportunity like this to get such a huge return on your money! Now the government scheme was guaranteed and there is risk here, but I never thought I would see the day a private investor would have such a chance.....
MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. Russia is employing laser weapons in its special operation in Ukraine, in particular, the Zadira laser system capable of striking targets at a range of 5 km, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said in a live broadcast on TV Channel One on Wednesday.
"They [laser weapon systems] have begun arriving [for the army]. The first types are already being employed [in Russia’s special military operation]," the vice premier said, adding that the system was dubbed Zadira.
The latest Zadira laser weapon is more powerful than the Peresvet system, which is capable of blinding reconnaissance satellites at a distance of 1,500 km, he elaborated.
The Zadira is focused on physically destroying an object at a distance of up to 5 km and it literally burns through a target by its thermal impact. This system is capable of "easily shooting down various types of drones, avoiding expending costly missiles of the Pantsyr and Tor types," the vice premier explained.
Only 4 trading days before the RNS on the 24th May 'trading statement'. Any update on meeting the production guidance of 1.7Moz for 2022, gross profit and update on Earnings per share and any mention of a future dividend will hopefully see the SP continue to rise!
There has been a lot of non Poly discussion over the last few days on this chat, so for anyone looking to buy this share:
COMPANY - Tell me a company that earned more than $2.89B in revenue last year, made $904m in profit and has more than $2.2bn in assets and is on track to make more than $2.9B in revenue this year (despite the limited sanctions on Poly at present) that you can buy for £2.65 a share!
DIVIDEND - With a potential dividend yield (once and they will recommence) of 29% at current SP. I don't want to know about any companies that are not generating any revenue or making any profit. Valuations on POLY are low because of the very high level of risk that comes with the company.
RISKS - Many risks have been priced into the stock during its fall from £14+ to £2.65 per share. However the fall in the share price has nothing to do with how the company has been run. This is still being run as a £14+ company, top 100 FTSE company.
Q1 UPDATE - If you haven't already, I would suggest you read the Q1 update and watch the Analyst and Investor presentation too. They stated all debts for 2022 are covered and already found alternative suppliers/distributors to the limited sanctions.
REVENUE INCREASE - Revenue increased 4% year on year to $616m for Q1. Poly said it still expected to produce 1.7 million ounces in 2022. They will also be selling silver from this month and Kutyn mine to commence from Q3. I still think gold price will be $2000 per oz by the end of the year.
AUDITOR - They are confident a new auditor will be in place for when they need it. Tendering in place with a tier 1 and 1 tier 2 auditor and also looking at least another company.
TAKEOVER - They believe no risk of any takeover as ICT is still the largest shareholder with 24%. Very little risk of Nationalisation as Putin has stated he will only do this if companies are thinking of moving away from Russia resulting in Russians losing their jobs, however no risk of any job loses of the 13,000 staff Poly employ.
SANCTIONS - It could get sanctioned, but I think it would have already been sanctioned by now. I think their main banks are Italy-based UniCredit that was mentioned in the presentation, Sberbank and Rosbank who are still operating in Russia.
DEBT - Confirmation peak of the debt will be the end of 1st half of this year, then the debt will start to reduce. Also trying to push $400m from the Cypress debt to Russia. Any dividend paid in August will be paid from cash flows from Cypress and Kazakhstan. Also looking at opportunities in Uzbekistan.
Still a fantastic opportunity for PI's to accumulate shares at this SP before II's are able to invest again (Nesis talking to UK brokers to get them
