Oh, look... nothing
I love you Ying Tong xx
Assumin they pull it off then yes Taxi, how they finance it is key to what is preserved for existing holders and their growth prospects going forwards.
EkXoc, sure this is no-way drone resistant; but I would not have believed a year ago, our doomed shares were heading for something so worthwhile and contemporary.
everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone can see that this rto has taken rather longer then people would like but the terms are all important. I personally would rather they obtain financing rather then dilute existing holders to oblivion and therefore am prepared to be patient. I can see some people are writing this off, but i prefer to wait until the company advises that this is the case rather then believe tittle tattle on the bb
You're right, wookie. The whole thing is ridiculous. More and more, it's beginning to look like the entire Guardian debacle was a desperate attempt by Gary Smith to salvage something after being seriously hoodwinked/ caught out on the last pump and dump and secret whisperings coming out from the company and the likes of Doc H et al.
It's time for this sham to just delist once and for all and let people move on with their lives.
This whole thing is so boring. We don’t even know if this guardian thing will even happen, is this share destined to just drag on for eternity in its quest for achieving nothing ever or has there been any glimmer of anything.
Think it’s time for the next RTO.
Yes, risk elevated as de.onstrated by MV Asphalt Princess. That looks like a rabsom was likely paid.
With luck the huardian phone lines are busy.
Threat of hijack only going to be higher now tho
The drone was military grade, believed to come from Iran, and a copy of israeli/american drones downed in syria and lebanon. Copies are never as good as originals but knocking it down with a shot gun would never be likely even in daylight let alone in the middle of the night. All merchant ships are vulnerable to that kind of attack and there is nothing that guardian could have done to assist the situation. No civilian tech could really make much difference except for fortifying the bridge or some area of the ship to make it impervious to explosions of this type.
Drone attacks have been occurjng for a good few years. Who knows how sophisticated the particular one was. Guess it depnds on who the actors were.
Fair point, yes night time I doubt they will leave the little green and red lights on :) will show on radar but potentially be missed being so small and if moving / changing altitude sharply. If at sea a drone attack would have to be launched from another vessel relatively close and that would show on ships radars, so imagine would be an early alert. Night vision ocean long range suitable drone with payload is next level, would hear that thing coming! No doubt drone attacks will become more common now
Would have to have some sort of radar to pinpoint drones too. 3am in the morning, at sea, not sure you would see anything, even if you were looking out.
Shotguns.. shotguns? And 5m quid cannons! You guys are living in TV land :) .. a drone, especially a drone of this type or most in your average purchasable category are controlled by? a frequency as I’m sure you know.
You can buy the materials for less than £500 quid to completely disrupt phone signals and drone frequencies.
Guardian should be making a very simple signal jammer… the army use certain types, including firing nets. But the fact is the science is about 30 years old. I built a kit not so long ago, basically a black box with two massive ariels, and some very large batteries .. which when switched on stops any phones in about 200m working, and drops drones out the sky. It’s sort of illegal to use them as they can stop other things working, like medical equipment etc but the science is there.
You can make them better by focusing the signal in a sort of EMP cannon.
If it was a military high altitude drone it’s a different story. But a load carrying commercial drone you can fry and drop for less than a thousand quid and easy to operate. Maybe I should send them an email.. simple solutions win.
Whilst Digweed would give it a good chance (it is bigger than a clay but likely twice the speed snd a rather different trajectory) I imagine the resulting explosion in such close proximity to the vessel would be nearly as bad as a direct hit.
This terrorist attack has raised the stakes in maritime protection.
Put the gun in the hands of George Digweed and I bet the odds would come down
Must be nearly time Jay threw another sicky again and had to resign
You have been watching too many movies I am afraid, the chance of a shotgun hitting a drone would be 1/100 at best.
Or a bloke with a shotgun who spotted an incoming drone.
Sure, I know merchant vessels don't have spare guys, nor those who stay alert for hours topside. Bad do.
What would have helped is a Phalanx anti-missile/aircraft rapid firing computer controlled gun system costing about 5 million USD but their only fitted to destroyers.
Correct
It looks unlikely the barrier could have helped.
Reports suggest it was an explosive drone attack. There is no mention of boarding.
Could the attack have been prevented with these barriers. We await further details but very serious and high profile
