You seem to forget Lloyds were cajoled into buying HBOS with its toxic mortgage book by your beloved Labour Party and then Osario has had to deal with the fallout of his predecessors PPI fiasco. No wonder Lloyds has not flourished in terms of capital growth. I’ll carrying on taking the dividend in the meantime.
You must have done your absolute brains on XLM looking at your posts on that forum and yet you never let fly at the company on that BB. You’re not even a shareholder here now so it begs the question why you continue to post here.......
Pat, I certainly enjoy different viewpoints, and free open discussion on all topics, although, Lloyds BB may not be the place for such, but where the UK and Lloyds are conjoined, then clearly much 'is' relevant.
As you are aware, I too, don't always 'see' things as others do, always try to read between the lines of information 'given' and wondering, sometimes rightly, often wrongly, what the 'real' reason is for Ceo, HMG, world leaders, in telling us what they wish us to believe.
We all have different lives, and different experiences so will all have varied views all being justified to us, otherwise we wouldn't have them in the first place.
These reasons we hold if strong, are dear to us and all will 'rise' if they are challenged.
I would not like to see any poster depart because they disagree with the masses, so please keep posting. Debate is interesting, and can help people understand others views even if not agreeing fully or at all.
My take is we joined as a trading agreement, but whether the EU leaders knew from day one, it was always destined for 'more than that', or it morphed into such, I don't know, but expect the former by at least some.
Certainly nothing stays static, but when it becomes too large, like all empires it becomes corrupt, and dangerous, with the ability to become a dictatorship.
Many here rightly or wrongly 'sense' that is how it seems to be going.
The Cathsoames of the world, seem happy to have this 'seemingly' fair huge organisation running the whole, and I can 'see' their point , but like Animal Farm, the corrupt are the ones who always seem to run such, and the larger it becomes the harder it is to change, so escape now may well imo, be for the best.
As Alf Garnet once said, ' I have served under a handful of parties and PM's, and still been poor under them all.'
That is why I like you expect 'little' to change, in reality, but hope a kick up the butt for the UK will 'alter' some of the problems we now have, hopefully for the better.
No doubt like most things in life, some things will be worse, some better, and all depending on who you are, where in life you are, if you overall gain, or lose.
Re Lloyds as an investment, just heard that over the last decade house prices gone up by such a lot, that, as I have said, anyone investing here, like me, would have been better off just buying a house with the cash, bricking up the doors, and STILL be better off than buying Lloyds shares.
Janmere ...just because I have an opposite view you assume I’m angry ... I know it’s only my words but that couldn’t be further from the truth ... Just like to have a balanced view ... Off course I do drop the odd line in to get you all going ... that’s just a bit of fun .... You be all be wondering where I had gone if the likes of Me James DCB didn’t post ... I very rarely raise to abuse ... I think to worse was the other day calling Boomer a spineless keyboard warrior after he made some wrong assumptions of me .. Boomer if you are reading accept my apology . I actually had some good debate with Boomer and I know he is an intelligent man but I know my views differ from him that doesn’t mean we have to lower to name calling .... Like I’ve said before the Alright Jack was all about some views on here and again you can only take my word for that ... I also think and again just my view that none of the stuff I write is too far off the mark ... forget about the alright Jack stuff that was me posted in slight anger to wind people up ... Anyway I realise now that I can’t post on here without getting abuse now so I will put my self in exile and quarantine like a Wuhan resident and I will now ban myself from posting on this BB ... Enjoy life we are winning at cricket and keeps smiling
For someone who is 'alright' whatever, you do seem very angry about us leaving.
Why, if 'you' are alright?
Is it other family members who you worry for, or for the great masses of poor, who you 'fear' will be worse off?
Truly just interested why you are so seemingly concerned.
Surely in your old job you have seen crime rates rise over the last couple of decades, you must have seen they vile types of crime, the housing stock diminishing, the A&E units having to cope with victims of street crime, more homeless sleeping in doorways, more young being mentally damaged by rape, s ex slavery, by drugs, by abuse?
That was when we were fully paid up members of the 'great EU' experiment.
Lloyds has not fared too well in the decade plus either.
Sure things 'could' get worse, but they 'could' get better, and the UK needs a 'kick up the ….' imo to FORCE a much needed change. Without leaving the EU, where else would that 'kick' come from?
Individual parties are to afraid of upsetting voters to do so, NOW we can use leaving as the reason to do so.
Why should life for the young get worse, IF that really is your concern, as once out we can make our own laws, without interference of upsetting 'big bro'.
