Thurs 6th August 2009. GKP i'll never forget tje date. Traders scared me into selling out as they were sure SHAIKAN-1 was a duster having took over a year to drill. However i was convinced it will be big and bought back a bit cheaper. I sold and bought back over 10 times Made a lot but learnef a lot too. Never sell too soon?
I am really pleased to read what you say, it makes for a much happier disposition if you're optimistic in your general outlook but realistic about the risk of whatever you buy. When one goes right it imakes you day... or week... or even month... and being generally positive you can be philosophical if one goes wrong.
Some of the gloom is understandable but a lot of it is every bit as speculative as a positive outlook, so why depress yourself! Neither view changes the outcome but being positive makes waiting far less stressful. Instead it can be intriguing and sometimes even exhilarating.
I bought Gulf Keystone. It went up 19 times on a massive spike and my best ever. That was exhilarating. Anyone who bought then lost heavily, your point exactly. Strategic Minerals and Metal Tiger were other big winners but I didn't always sell soon enough. My lesson, big riseses on very good news are almost always overdone spikes. Sell and if you want to stay invested by back whe it all calms down.
Slight correction...sorry
Some may say..."i know you hold some good stocks". True but they are GOOD NOW not when i bought them. You mustn't confuse a contrarian
Copro. ..being hopeful is all we can do. Being a contrarian is more risk less reward. I have a few of these bombed out stocks and every once in a while one comes right. Some i have held for years but all were bought close to the bottom. I NEVER buy anything that has been popular and already risen. Some may but i know you hold some good stocks. True but they are GOOD NOW not when i bought them. You mustn't confuse a contrarian
with a rainbow chaser. This ICON fing personally speaking could go tits up or thumbs up and i really don't care. It will just be another hopeful recovery play sitting in my portfolio waiting to implode or explode. Contrarians never take advice from anyone...if it's bad i'm interested. If it's really bad i'll be FEARFUL but CHEERFUL.
The PR value of Infotagion: Covid-19 is potentially immense and can't be quantified in pure cash terms. I used to employ a PR company to get that kind of publicity and credibility. I am like many here, selling now would be at a big loss. If they replicate Unilad but monetise it who knows? I like applegarth am hopeful... it culd be massive... or it could all go wrong.
Sad to see ICON in such a state. Unfortunately imo they stuck in a vicious cycle that will ultimately lead to total collapse.
Biggest losers = shareholders.
Unfortunately I only see worse to come here. My stake is worth so little now though I will just leave it be & see what happens.
HALF YEAR RESULTS OUT
Dynamo2..we'll just have to disagree until something occurs you may be right. I normally get my instincts right and since my very first investment in a sham company in 1987 called Control Securities run by crooked Asil Nadir i had put just 1000 quid into it. Within days it was worth 3000 quid but i sensed something was wrong and the shares were flying. He invested into a packing company. I sold out but for the wrong reasons, i thought it simply rose too much too fast. It doubled again then crashed. The company was a sham, there was no packing company and Asil Nadir fled to Cyprus where he stayed for 25yrs. It taught me a lesson not to take every company at their word. I have a feel for ICON and i believe we will know pretty soon what they are up to. Icon are in business to make money through inmovations. I maintain they will deliver something after all this time of dragging their feet. Past performance is not a true guide to future performance. I won't change my mind unless news to the contrary is released. Something is occuring behind the scenes
That depends if there are plans to use this company to spin off other ventures. Why are the Govt getting involved. Why bother? I know one thing if i was running any business i certainly wouldn't get involved in anything that had no potential revrnues at the end. As Fake news goes.. that is more likely to be a Govt responsibility rather than place the burden on an individual company. ICON couldn't give a gnat's knacker about Fake News UNLESS therr was something on it for them. Even charities make money.
Trigger - only worth two toilet rolls I’m afraid
Yanis how do you know its 5m ? it could be 2m it could be 3m it could be 4m ? . Have they not said we have enough revenue to cover costs and want to get the balance sheet down to NIL ?
I must be reading the wrong BB, I was looking for iconic labs !!! I’d love to think this would shoot back up and may just get my original stake back but can’t see it. Anyone want to swop 10m shares for a 4 pack of toilet roll ?
The guys are capable of great things. Just need a few big contracts for a 500% rise. Recent publicity is very helpful.
Exactly dynamo3....so we hope for new innovations that may spring out of 'Intafagion' they must have a strategy going forwards and hope is that they have it on good advice that the Govt steps in with grants and a few ideas of their own to use ICON as a platform. I wouldn't worry about debt at this stage...if what is possibly about to happen over the next few weeks or months ICON could see their debts wiped out. As you know i am a contrarian, i look fot these kind of situations where we find ourselves in a Buffett situation...fearful but cheerful.
If it all goes tits up then i have only lost less than a grand from profits already made else where. So derisked. If what i believe COULD happen here you'll be glad to hold on as this could 40 bag and still be under a penny. It's how contrarians invest.
High risk..big rewards but the downside is limited if you invest only profits from other stocks.
A bounce id expevted very soon but most are waiting for clarification on this new FAKE NEWS web site. Icon must have been given some kind of encouragement at Govt levels that financial help may be given in the form of a grant. No one does any business for NOTHING so we wait for news on this isdue?
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/amp/news/916080
Applegarth and OilNovice, thanks for the clarification. £250k per month for the next 20 months is £5 mil,!
Also, £250k/month at 0.015p is 1,666,666,666 shares .... and I don’t like the 6’s lol.
Will be more shares as the price goes lower.
Do you guys think we are going to see a rebound?
Yanis - they will be issuing £250k worth of shares every month until they have exhausted the £5m financing limit.
The conversion price is the higher of (a) nominal market share price or (b) 90% VWAP - this is explained in the RNS released on 7 Feb...
Basically, the 'Investor' (EHGOS Fund) will be selling £250k worth of shares every month for the next 20 months!
Yanis it is near the bottom and is my strategy to try and catch the inevitable bounce for a long hold. I just bought another 2.5m small fry but i need to have cash ready if it goes lower. Gla
Where are all these new shares ... millions and millions ... being dumped coming from? Is this a new convertible? If so what price? Does anyone know?
Just when IU think is the bottom, before suspension, I averaged down ... only to go down lower.
Bought more after suspension ... down again. Surely, this must be the bottom?
