"I've never understood why people block others who post things that dont suit their narrative or thoughts?"
Always interested in a well-thought out contrary view. Not interested in assertions based on unsubstantiated predictions and other silliness which have no basis in reality. Especially not from someone who is clearly simply deramping for his own purposes.
At least one of the people I've filtered has admitted that he sees a long-term future in this share but doesn't want to buy in at this price. He's obviously trying to talk the SP down to the level at which he wants to buy -- as if that would even be possible for a company this size. That guy does not have my interests at heart, he's trying to influence me in a way that is contrary to my interests for his own benefit. I have no interest in reading him.
I've never understood why people block others who post things that dont suit their narrative or thoughts? It makes more sense to keep them in "Plane" Site (See what I did there) Every single board has lovers and haters, not just on shares boards either but seeing another persons opinion even if it is outlandish can be eye opening sometimes and can actually make you do some research to either prove them wrong or maybe enlighten you a little bit more which funnily enough could help you make a better trading decision :)
I've said quite a few times I think we are in a majorly false situation now in regards to where stock markets are but one thing that keeps my hopes up is that surely the USofA wont capitulate and cause the biggest market crash in history? Some economists still think this could happen but some have been saying this since forever! One thing that is for certain is that markets will fall and markets will rise only to fall and rise again :)
The fall will always result in the rise of those who are strongest :)
P.S A big effing moth is in my house and just scared the sh*t out of me!
Barcode, you have not answered my question. You have just embarrassed yourself.
If you don't like to read peoples opinions and would like to see skewed opinions. By all means filter OR Go and subscribe for premium share chat.
This is a public forum. I am entitled to share my opinion.
two-thirds of any airlines' revenue comes from passengers in first, business or premium economy class.
here's an real example of the economics of a boeing 777 EGLL -KJFK return trip
A round-trip economy class ticket costs, at the time of writing, (£708). That means that, if each of the 122 economy seats is filled, the entire back section of the plane will make the airline, round-trip, £86,466."
Comparatively, the going rate for a premium economy seat is £2,130 for a round-trip, meaning the entire cabin will make £85,210.
Already you can see that the entire 40-seat premium economy sections makes BA roughly as much as the entire economy class section
For business class, the 48 seats go for £5,439 each for a return fare, making the airline £261,087. The 14 first class seats are sold for £7,050 each or £98,713 in total.
Now, put into this scenario social distancing, the lack of demand and weak consumer confidence. A recipe for disaster
whatamess, thank you for responding. I never said, I didn't like what you write? Where did I say that?
I am happy to read what people say, either negative or positive. However, when people post on such a regular basis as yourself and Barcode, on a negative theme, then I wonder why you are here? An interest in Aviation you say. Dear oh dear!!
I am still waiting to hear from Barcode!
so thats the reason, to deramp to a better entry, thought so, so the share is not bad after all eh...
Anyways I'm out, cba with your lame deramping attempts on a BB for a ftse 100 stock worth billions...get a life!
They happily answer other questions with their twisted logic...but can never answer...
Why they spend an abundance of time on the BB of a disastrous share?
Whatamess? Barcode?
Barcode and whatamess can you tell me why if you think IAG are in such a state and not worth investing into, why do you spend so much time on this BB? Why not go off and find a company worth investing your money into? If people want to gamble on IAG, then that is their choice, it has nothing to do with you. You appear to be a couple of busybodys!! Lol
You are right, all airlines and travel companies are on the same boat. I don't understand why people are scraping the bottom of the barrels in an industry that is clearly in turmoil. By the looks of it, a lot of "investors" here are also gamblers.
georgewright. Regarding economies of scale; IAG's action in reducing it's costs are not parallel to their overall output. THE COMPANY IS SHRINKING. THE SHARE PRICE IS SHRINKING TOO! ARE YOU BLIND?!?
@Barcode "IAG are dysfunctional at the moment"
I quit even thinking about answering you some time ago, but this one finally convinced me to say this: Barcode is dysfunctional at the moment and I'm now filtering him.
And George, if you keep answering whatamess then I have to read what he's saying in your posts and I am filtering him precisely because I don't want to read what he's saying. Total waste of time reading or responding. So if you keep answering him I'll be forced to filter you, too, even though I don't want to. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
For some reason, the idiot derampers love this share and answering doesn't work, the only solution is to filter them.
IAG are dysfunctional at the moment. you have 12,000 staff getting laid off. cash being burned at a high rate, big aircrafts being sold off, hardly anyone flying business and first class (which is where the heft of their income is made) a CEO stepping down becuase he doesn't want to be responsible for a company that fading away, brexit in winter with freedom of movement restrictions.. Demand will be rock bottom and negative. Better sell all your stock now before the airline is nationalised by Christmas
was thinking along the lines of more posts at major hub airports rather than more planes!
IAG have liquidity to last at least a year or beyond. they won't be making any cash call soon. My own view is that they expect smaller companies to go to the wall & they pick up the business. All a bit ifs & buts , but that's how it seems to me. Virgin Atlantic are short on the cash & if they fail then BA is the one taking the custom!
Fair point only if usa and further a field open up ?
As we all know once long hauls return it will jump.
Perhaps I will sell the rest and keep iag then.
All this talk about Rights issues & lack of liquidity etc. Can someone advise me if a company is that short of cash why they only furloughed a third of their workforce?
Newbie, why the **** would you want to sell your IAG shares in August? They will just be taxing on the Apron in August, sell them when they are at 36,000 ft, in 12 months time. IAG is a different beast from them one point ****ers we fly full in winter.
I'm still thinking about selling all my travel and aviation shares in august. My thoughts are less demand in winter and market fear of winter being very bad for covid infections like the flu.Unless theres a vaccine or further a field country's open up on air bridge list.
What's the general opinion sell august or keep into autumn and winter
