If you look short term then I think there will be more of a buzz than doubt. IAG haven’t given any indication of easing more money and have stated their liquidity position so I don’t think investors have anything to worry about now. All this worry caused by 1 out of 25 analysis as well as easyjet diluting it was only natural for IAG to be looked at next.
Big hype with travel right now so let’s enjoy it while it lasts :)
Marcus, there were plenty of posts denouncing all RI talk. It is always a gamble when a company goes silent. From the Times report, it could have gone the other way. It might still do!
They may not be tapping shareholders for money, but what about further dilution, debt swaps? What about non-retail share sell?
Those that sold may still have the last laugh. Frankly anything might happen.
Marcus, I’m 2.5k down on spreadbet (that’s how invest some of my money) on £30 per point. Friday morning I had some sort of hunch and lumped on £70 a point and managed to cut my loss by a third already. Hit limit stop but then at 4:20pm Friday decided to get back on. Sometimes you’ve just got to throw your eggs in one basket.
Fingers crossed for Monday!!
Feel sorry for the individuals that sold only a day or two before the huge rebound after reading all that 'RI incoming' nonsense that was brigaded on this BB. Those responsible should eat manure.
It’s not Christmas lol
Just two more $leeps
Don’t know about you guys but I can’t wait for Monday. I know that’s bad wishing your life away but Monday will be exciting.

Go and enlighten yourself.
go look swastika up in a diary before you get all pompous and pias. You have to stretch the yarn some distance to distort it as you are trying to do. Something hss made you very bitter in your time away. The context of my side of the discussion is unmistakably clear. The clarification I, and it is confirmed the city of London too, have been seeking has been made.
Did you open a spread TP? Is that why you have suddenly become bitter enough to dismiss 99% of the postings leaving isolated fragments to use? Very disappointed.
You have stated 'An RI is coming at some point' in numerous posts, pontificating and peddling fear here, in a company you are not invested in. You've been called out by none other than IAGs chief executive.
And as for this -
'Those planes don't have the EU blue swastika on the tail!'
Shameful.
@Fairy1
I'm all good thanks, I hope all is well with you and yours too.
@big-blue
Don't worry, I won't be here long, I have no interest in being part of your IAG BB personal daily blog of your never ending drivel and meanderings. Anyone that can shove the word 'swastika' into a share chat is, to my mind, below contempt.
selective editing like that, really not your style TP. Are you a fake?
At some point, as qualified in dozens of posts, no comment or denial from the company increased the probability day by day as it indicated they couldn't deny it because they were in discussion. That has been confirmed. And as another has already posted, the game isn't over yet.
No 'emergency' tapping of investors. The speculation has been answered. Now, how are they expected to pay fir further acquisitions?
@TP,welcome back.Hope all is well.Have you looked at Dark Trace?
You stated that -
'An RI is coming at some point!'
Did you not?
Very poor post TP, we expect better from you. I have repeatedly said IAG should be responding to the rumour, which turns out to have been rife in the city. The longer they say nothing, the more probable the RI is. I said clearly the silence can mean they are discussing it, that is confirmed they have been in discussion about options with bank. How many posts have I used the 'if'? Many. I was right there was a discussion, I was right there was real speculation, I was right they had to answer it.
And for the record, I post tonight, the expression is no 'emergency' RI immediately. I stand full square by my comments yhat have completely justified.
B-B, Thanks for the link, but you called that RI is coming many times.
Anyway, AIG will fly from Monday, I am happy as I bought back heavily, expecting 200p+ within weeks.
GLA.

'But I have called it right despite being nailed to the cross and having a spear stabbed in my side.'
Hmmmm, so despite you posting many many times all week that an RI was coming, now suddenly faced with a report from IAGs boss, the horse's mouth you've been claiming should post RNS after RNS has kicked the RI 'rumour' (for it was nothing more) into the long grass you claim, shamelessly, that you called it right. Remarkable volte face.
You posted this 24 hours ago....
'An RI is coming at some point!'
I'll just leave that there........
Actually livestock beat me and raffles. But I have called it right despite being nailed to the cross and having a spear stabbed in my side.
look back BB, raffles beat you to it...
so you won did you..? so if there was a rights issue you would have won would you..?
that enough.... enjoy your evenings...
..l am chuckling ....
...oh BB you win the special prize, well done my friend..
Mouths open wide......

"The chief executive of British Airways owner IAG has denied widespread City speculation that he is planning to raise billions of euros from shareholders to get the company through the extended Covid crisis.
Having seen easyJet tap investors for £1.2 billion in a rights issue earlier this month, focus had turned to IAG with expectations that it would have to follow suit to shore up its finances. But chief executive Luis Gallego firmly denied any such plans, telling The Sunday Times: “We do not see the necessity to do a rights issue and are not considering it.”"
