Poker, In the UK the monthly cost of PrEP is about £35 on generic.
When Truvada was first introduced in the US it sold at well over £10,000
on a annual basis, from memory.
I just don't see how sexual health clinics, which are underfunded in many
regions as it is, would either have the time or resources to favour an injectable.
with a very cheap and easy to taken proven tablet form of PrEP available.
And to my mind, rightly or wrongly, it casts doubt on their wider estimates going forward.
May be that is too cautious a view, only time will tell.

A s I understand it....from a doctor friend...there is some concern that too many young people see a PrEp tablet as a reason not to bother taking sufficient precautions or care with regards to their sexual practices.... and think...oh well..no big deal..I can always just take a PrEp tablet....no big deal...
I do not know...but..maybe the idea of introducing an injection would make people think twice ...and move to not needing the injection/tablet... in the first place ....
yes i know waiting for GSK toooo go to 1378 then i cn get one lol
Denby, you need a new keyboard. Your punctuation keys don't transmit.
Fats all I got from yesterday was the were not going yo pay INVERTERS so much dividend and ew made sure that the firm that she hopes to run NEW GSK lol is well funded at the expense to other people firms watch her bonuses in the next few years if she is not got rid of
Not the most tech literate but still cannot find a reply option for Wednesday's presentation
on the IR site, or a transcript. Had hoped to watch the end of day Q&A.
In respect of injectable PrEP I know people who work in sexual health
and they do not see it as viable due to the costs involved to
healthcare systems - appointments every two months where a nurse
or Dr needs to administer. Remember it's competing against a once
daily oral PrEPin tablet form that can be on a repeat prescription.
I've seen comments from GSK saying ...it reduces the stigma of
daily medication - I just don't buy that for the vast, vast majority
of that patient population.
Now PrEPin a long acting tablet form is a completely different
ballgame and from memory that is currently in clinic - would
need to double check the details.
In terms of GSK, I added to my holding before the close as mentioned.
May be a gap fill to the pre RNS level?, but can't call that one tbh.
My partner also works in frontline healthcare as previously mentioned,
very fortunate to be come out of COVID uncathed - at least to this point.
Good fortune.

“Could some one please explain to me ,how the split is going to work, how many shares are we going to get ,when the split happens in each company.”
I suspect not even the Glaxo board know the answer to that clever little question.
Tune in closer to the split and I expect all will be revealed. Until then treat everything you hear as conjecture.

“that's la la Land stuff imv.“
You probably know all about irrational exuberance being a trader?
But do you know about the flip side of the coin - irrational pessimism?
Extreme negativity is also a theme of LaLa Land.
Cuts both ways
and obvs these are just estimates - injectable PrEP will Not be a blockbuster,
that's la la Land stuff imv.
Along acting PrEP in tablet form, yes that would be highly attractive.
Wider inflation Not accounted for is my understanding.
So 3% RPI would be in real terms 2%, however remember they
have guided for significant multi year margin improvement which
is a factor behind the higher forecast in operating growth % .
When they say 5% growth per year....what does that actually mean....if inflation is ..say 2% then..is the "real" organic growth just 3%
How are these figures related to inflation estimates ???
I believe at the tail end of their update RNS today they said they would be presenting on that subject in 2022, prior to the split.
Could some one please explain to me ,how the split is going to work, how many shares are we going to get ,when the split happens in each company.
