One slight negative for me is the gold price may not fly like I expected with a strong dollar. It appears we are in a slight flight to safety mode and the dollar is winning - I expected gold above $2k. But this is where cost of production becomes crucial - marginal profit companies will make less money in these markets as costs rise and if gold is at this price. Being lowest quartile is really important and that is where Homase sits so GRL is insulated from downward pressure on gold price and also, being debt free is huge (to keep banging on about it) in this respect with only opex to service. AISC $1k with gold $1.8k is just fine for Goldstone. GLA
It creates opportunity. Sadly I cant take advantage as liquid income has dried up but if you are seriously investing long term low sp is a gift and you dont want it high. It is literally that - a value play current market value against expected/'real' value and when on your expectation that goes low you should buy! Market is imperfect - that creates opportunity - and its how I made all my money on the market to date. Goldstone is no different - it is worth 20p on expected earnings in 2022.
It's a shame how this has slumped, but it's hard to see it as anything other than wider market sentiment and a bit of boredom. No change to the available information or risk profile (unless you count inflationary pressure on costs, but I doubt anyone's selling because of that).
We will see but they wouldn't be drilling Akrokeri if they weren't comfortable with Homase (producing and paying off the debt). Looking forward to that fcf and drill results in months to come! Btw I am not adverse to buying explorers with great assets - obviously - but we are moving into different territory with Goldstone now. This will be the first of my junior miners which will pay me a dividend I am confident of that. Really peiple should buy stocks for earnings - obviously with growth stocks we buy much earlier in the anticipation that one day they will have earnings!
Be very interested how this goes now....
It's a viable call... But so many issues to date .... Can it deliver....
Hi Wasa.
Yes regards GGP. It was tbf a once in a lifetime(ish) share. But as of now, still being pumped at 11p, down from 38s....
It has a great resource. But weighed down by past expections, and aggressive "cult" like LTH who failed to sell near peak, as they should.... so now speek to pump x20 at x20 posts a day.....
Here not the same, clearly. But need to take a breath, as strikes me to needs frim action plan. If get to that,0with it's strong assets. Thrnjts got legs. If not ...
I don't know much about GGP but isn't it being developed - ie no earnings? You can value a producing miner by earnings because it is cashflow and in the case of a company like Goldstone with 0 or nearly 0 debt it is pure cashflow. Valuation should be much easier assuming steady state. I'm really excited here about the fact that we are valued like an explorer but are producing. Just need confirmation of that - assuming quarterly reporting expecting news by end of June at the latest. Later the better personally speaking as I may have cash landing in June and I would readily buy more here at any price close to what we've got at the moment.
Hi SJ , good to hear from you , yes i felt it had dropped low enough to take a small position
I listened to the recent interview with CEO and felt she had the right attitude to take this forward, i liked the no nonsense approach
Time will tell
Hi again Lethal :-)
I have been watching this for a while tbh.
I had a small 240k shares here at late 6s some time back. I have to admit I very rarely trade. But did sell at 11s, as had a feeling the Mgmt here were being a bit "opaque" back then....
Then watched it climb to 14s, and assumed it was about to take off, and that I was wrong. But see now it's at 8s ?
Hard to know what to make of it. Gold in the current env, if efficiently mined out should be in a strong position one has to say. The slightly dubious location notwithstanding. Yet this hasn't really sustained its previous momentum for whatever reason...
It's still of interest to me. After all having held 7.7 M GGP @3.58 I can see where gold fever can take a share, that overblown 38p etc ;-)...
But equally, & as with that share. It can fall a long long way on the unwary if over bought ( in that case), or not quite as it's projected (here perhaps?).
I am sure the wise on here can confirm if it's got legs again & despite the falls? But much more drop and I may invest again here in the current macro climate perhaps?
Cheers.
How this has dipped so low from 14p !!
Just when i thought 9p was a good entry point :(
