REM, BZM, FRR, etc. I fell for all. "You have to be in it
to win it!" Muppets have no idea but I held on to GGP
and shall not sell my share. At last I am lucky.
@ desjwhite
Nope, neither of those!
Block Commodities (was African Potash)
Futura Medical
Gowin New Energy Group Ltd
Kefi Minerals Plc
Kodal Minerals plc
Nu-Oil and Gas plc
URU Metals
(Oh and previously forgot Ubecorp Limited too which used to be Nyota Minerals, and used to be in UKOG also but sold out at a loss)
Every single one an absolute ''Bowser'' (somewhere between 73 & 94% in the red) so thank heavens for my 2m holding in GGP with a 1.1p average! ;-)
MB1965; even with none or basic research then sometimes you can just get lucky; but I do agree with the more experienced people on this board that personal research and hard work is probably the best way to make you money from shares.
Napthman1, just to help you with the spelling mistakes in my original post then I did say 'wife' instead of 'with'; it's such an easy spot and no doubt adds to your thesis on uneducated people posting at the weekend.
Yes; sorry napthman1, You are correct about uneducated people posting on the board at weekends; please accept my apologies for getting your name wrong, in my original post in this thread.
Also, please let me know of any other spelling mistakes or grammatical errors in my posts, as my education in the English language is a bit limited.
Sounds like an investment in REM (now KDNC) and/ or VAL similar amount of losses but all made better by being in here at 1.48p
''a lot of people say then "DYOR" but in the real world many don't when they are starting out buying shares, they are naive''
You're not wrong Floater, I certainly was (as illustrated by my ability to have turned £7,470.31 into £581.66 in 6 years on my other 7 ''investments''!! LOL!
Just thankful I got lucky (really lucky!) with my eighth!! ;-)
Well im signing iff this board at the weekends is over run by uneducated people on the share so im off. Good luck
Naptham, I tend to agree with what TT has said, yes some people say take info from Motley with a pinch of salt, but I'm sure some of their readers have maybe landed on good shares, throughout the years and maybe even come into GGP with some of thier historic articles.
Yes, there are probably better sites that are more informative and as a lot of people say then "DYOR" but in the real world many don't when they are starting out buying shares, they are naive, maybe ill informed and tentative about putting money in something that is technically a gamble. I'm sure quite a few LTHs on here took GGP as a gamble, but obviously through research and/or great info posted on here then they stuck with and will benefit immensely.
Everyone is different and they can't all be experts in mining, geo, finance, shares etc so they do tag along with articles on sites like MF or on BBs to get information - it is just the way it works for some people and although you can say DYOR, etc then some won't. It could just be that they are lazy, or find technical info difficult to learn or it could be they have a young family, work 5-6 days a week wife their partner working also, etc so simply don't have time to sit and research for hours.
I don't see why they should be criticised for it.
napthman1 what sites would you recommend away from Motley? Are paid subscriptions worthwhile? I hear Investors Chronicle is good but expensive?
I kind of disagree. It really depends on what Motley Fool country site you look at, at any particular time.
I completely agree that the UK site has been very much a YoYo story on GGP, for years now, and I've posted many pieces here, but, funnily enough, when they are largely pro GGP it largely gets the 'thumbs up' from LSE GGP forum poster's, but, when it's even slightly negative, a lot of poster's moan. Hey, let's be honest here, is that any surprise anyway, whatever you post here, TBH?!
You really can't win! Just like any negative, or even slightly negative post on this forum, it's usually met with derision, and sometimes abuse and/or filtering from those that have always believed that they 'own' the forum.
That all said, the Motley Fool Oz site is actually pretty good, IMHO. Just as one example, they posted some of the recent UBS Broker Newcrest/Havieron rating/sp note comments, which were not available elsewhere, and I won't knock them if they give me useful research information which isn't available elsewhere.
GLA & DYOR
TT
And thay carnt spel. Lol
Everyone should ignor the fool articles. Obviously try to stear for their own benefit and also most oof the time are wromg and contradict them swofs every other day. Waste of time of attention in my opinion
