I’m the same, I’m a few hundred grand up and tell my Mrs every day how much I have made. BIG MISTAKE .She is frustrated because I won’t top slice and not interested till I cash out. I’m in my late 50s and financially secure. I haven’t sold a single share in 14 months and have not got a clue when to sell as this is for my sons and grand children. But I’m here EVERY DAY like most of you watching the price and the comments . Good luck to everyone. Ps she says greed will ruin me
"It’s possible currencies could collapse pushing up the dollar which can be bad for gold, it could be the dollar and gold rise why all else falls. Who knows."
In today's environment I would not want to be without some US dollar assets.
I would not want to be without a significant cash holding, either. But I do admit this share is tempting me to blow up my investment strategy.
Mushroom, haven’t you heard? The lockdowns over.. my neighbour just had a bbq with 6 of his buddies..
Disclaimer: FlyingMuel does not believe the lockdown is over and still practises social distancing.
Ahh..imagine that Truckerboy! A nice new villa. Actually, I just fell asleep and woke up and I'm still here but that's ok for the moment.
Showmethemoneyyy....yep it's definitely a screwy world at the moment. Did anyone see those crowds of mutants being herded up on the Durdle Door beach while two air ambulances landed to whisk away those who had been diving off cliffs into the sea?
Did IQ levels drop while I was away? I've just got to leave again. Got to. Come on GGP!
Huge losses for me too Kempey on FRR, GGP is taking the sting out. But very painful...
I agree, nothing is certain today. We are living in unprecedented times. GGP is the only company I feel comfortable with at the moment but nothing is guaranteed. We all have some nightmare investments. Looks like I've lost £50k on Frontera Resources this week which I was ridiculously exposed on. My fault and my fault only! If it's going to have an impact on your day to day life sell when you are up by 10%. Still better than you get in the banks!!
I am with mushroom in a way. I have high hopes but the world is in such turmoil I am not sure how it’s all going to play out.
For instance, all the government debts racked up since 2008 and now in a major way this year is going to lead to some major changes in the next few years and markets are going to go crazy. I am not counting my chickens just yet. But I think investing in gold is just about the safest area, but still not safe. It’s possible currencies could collapse pushing up the dollar which can be bad for gold, it could be the dollar and gold rise why all else falls. Who knows.
Mushroom, don’t tell me you haven’t been looking at a newer motorhome , and the next time you drive to Portugal you’re own villa will be waiting for you my friend
Keep the faith
Truckerboy
For all my bravado about how I am going to spend my potential massive gain, in truth' I don't believe it will amount to anything significant. I feel that my lifestyle will remain exactly how it has is been for many years; forever scratching around to make ends meet. My other half is a little different. She has been looking at 'nice' houses in rural Gloucestershire, Asturias in Spain, Northern Portugal and Southern France all weekend. I guess that's my fault for explaining to her every other day why GGP has so much going for it.
She now definitely believes it will happen! I don't want to get too excited though in case I wake up and find it was all a blimmin dream...
Almost all posters on here will do what they want out of greed irrespective of what they've openly posted on here.
Personally, I had already decided what I was doing over a year ago. I'll either be forced to sell by something GGP does or I'll sit on it until I reach a point where I have made enough to sell and walk away.
I don't know why there should be concern on what anyone does anyway. Nobody on here is going to post you a cheque if you follow their advice and it all goes wrong.
Top slice if you need to, sell if you want to. Don't answer to anyone and all this "I'm filtering you" why broadcast it, just do it and shut up. Most of the complainers are usually upset because they do nothing more than a bit of cut & paste and think they are above others. Do the ones that claim to filter actually add anything to your strategy.... Probably not.
Look after yourself, don't worry about others.
I've been filtered a few times apparantly, but not by anyone that has ever enhanced my understanding of this stock.
Unfortunately not Costa, people do get influenced, which is why so many posters lurk on these boards with specific agendas, some being paid for it. I'm not saying that's happening here and as already mentioned, GGP seems a very different outfit to the crooks behind Nuog. I'm only here to read mostly rather than post.....I've made my mistakes getting too involved in bb chat before, however, I just felt the need to comment on Scottie/Kemper posts due to my own experience in that area.
Scottie, just a short addendum to kempey's post. Whilst it's entirely down to individual circumstances whether you speak to family about it, it's definitely best to speak to someone rather than keep it to yourself. We're still just gamblers at the end of the day, even if we like to think we're more intelligent or better informed than BetFred punters.
Whichever way you look at it, statistics prove that it can be a very dark road for the (mostly males) who lose large amounts of money on gambling, especially if you bottle it all up and don't speak to anyone. I lost £10k on BMR and £25k+ on Nuog (after being £20k up on Nuog and getting greedy). At that time the Nuog discussion board was very similar to here, some very well informed posters selling the dream. That ended in tears and I'm certainly not saying it's the case here as this appears a completely different outfit and much better investment indicators, however, I agree with Timbertrader that each individual should be left to make their own choices and not be influenced by posters on these boards, well intended or otherwise. Atb
It's a fair question to ask Scottie and I've been in that boat to the tune of £100,000 plus (real cash) not paper profits. It's a risk you take when you play the AIM market but with high risk comes high reward and you only need one really successful company and the mortgage is paid off, car's ordered, yachts in the marina and retirement comes early. Didn't someone on this board become a millionaire on Friday? Suggest dont talk to family about it unless the loss is going to affect them...then you have to. Yes its lonely but if you're successful I can assure you you won't be lonely!! As an aside I made the £100k back on Greatland plus a lot more. Fingers crossed it doesn't go pear shaped. It doesn't look like it will but be prepared. I didn't think SXX would but that's another story!!
It is quite lonely when you lose a lot of your hard earned pension money and do not like to talk about it to family and friends. What would you tell your family if ggp goes wrong? I only meant that now I have been in contact with fellows in the same boat.
