If the Dow opens badly down, EVR could slide into the the 200s this week.
Share price more than halved lest than a year ,it would be bargain again, but when?
Skier1..........50p?......they are paying a 30p divi divi
and no that once meant to be wrote twice....lol
EVR is like a falling knife at the moment. Nobody wants to catch it. Some charts suggest the bottom will be around the 50-100p level. An ultra-bearish outlook here.
Hard to know what to buy? EVR, Lloyds, anything really, it’s carnage on the dance floor that’s for sure!
Carnage or Bounce today....
FTSE is showing opening around 240 points lower.
Skier1.......you been reading the shorters / derampers dictionary?........plenty of emotive phrases
massive capital-spending
revenue tumbling
profits collapsing
dividend will be slashed in 2020
China death virus
Did i miss anything?
Are you for real Skier? Do you think they had an emergency board meeting this week and recalculated the Divi because of the share price drop. Do you have any idea how long an Annual report takes to compile for FTSE company?
The Board has obvs inflated the dividend to try and support the shareprice, but the market is in bear-mode and not listening. With EVR's massive capital-spending increase coming up, revenue tumbling, and profits collapsing, that level of dividend is defo not sustainable and will be slashed in 2020. With dividend cuts likely, China death virus and Wall Street bear market, the outlook here for 2020 is bleak.
The recent resistance may indeed break today. Down 7.65% as I write.
Skier... A drop of $12,836m to $11,905m in revenue cannot be described as 'freefall', and US$1,456 million in cash is pretty good.
On a day that the FTSE is down over 2.4%, this kind of drop is normal for EVR, as and when the virus fear eases, watch this shoot up by 15% in two days.
IMO The profit drop has been priced in for ages now. The only surprise in the results for me is the high level of cash flow and the continued divi representing a yield of over 15%.
Results today are a disaster. EVR revenue in freefall and profits collapsing. With markets plunging due to the China death virus, this has further to fall. Expect a shareprice in the 2s within weeks.
Fascinating share price behaviour today. I'm guessing that the huge price drop early convinced a lot of people to close out their short positions so they aren't exposed if tomorrow brings good results.
Come on skier1 its time again for an appearance..........good opportunity for you to buy a few
"Cannot understand why you did not take a position when it was 350p"
He did take a position. His chart told him to take a short position, and to talk the share down.
skier1.................turn the chart around ,your holding it upside down
Cannot understand why you did not take a position when it was 350p....dont think you will have the opportunity again
American markets going strong today, could be another positive day on the markets tomorrow.
Much needed in my case.
EVRAZ (LON:EVR) had its price target increased by JPMorgan Chase & Co. from GBX 400 ($5.26) to GBX 405 ($5.33) in a research report report published on Friday, Digital Look reports. JPMorgan Chase & Co. currently has a neutral rating on the stock.
Trust me I have had far more experience at calling it wrong than right. But the drop looked too much to me for the level of impact.
I've got 2 sets of shares here, so may make a decision tomorrow whether to sell one trache but will hold the other for dividends and capital growth.
The issue with selling is I'll still be looking to reinvest somewhere at some point, so no garauntees of getting it right next time.
I think also think the scare is not over yet. SSE is up today and the whole world just responded to it. That's all.
I was so close to doing that. Wish I had. A great opportunity for profit taking if you want it, but I really think once the scare blows over this has a lot more gains in it.
Well I'm putting my money where my mouth is.
Bought a tranche at 352p.
That's the last of my ISA for this year, so hopefully it will do better than the rest.
Welcome back skier. How is the doomsday screnio ? Are you wearing your mask, staying indoors and scared to go outside, avoiding this new virus ?
Once the first people start to recover from this corona virus and it's no longer seen as "guaranteed death" then the panic will start to ease. Well we all hope so. This should shoot up once so as China re-opens its doors.
Ha..on cue Skier1 pops up. A man with no short on...just an anxious bottom feeder.
It may well drift a bit more and I’ll be topping up on any sub 340 action.
skier1.................lol
I'm fascinated to understand the mathematics behind a virus that at the top end has a fatality rate or 2-3% will knock a further 1/3rd off the share price?
