Fully agree Bace, it would be worth people reading Reminiscences of a stock operator. Jessie Livermore talks in the book about how he only ever lost money when he bought stocks on other people's tips. He realised the need to do his own research and be intimate with the metrics.
GLA not long now
Hi Bluebird. Everyone has to start somewhere and asking questions of more experienced investors is totally valid. What you must be careful of is asking other investors for direct advice as to whether or not you should buy a share. You’ll probably have noticed a lot of comments are followed by DYOR, this is because no-one can tell you what a share is going to do on a forum, it constitutes finacial advice.
I think it’s great that you are looking to get into the stock market but please be very careful, don’t invest any more than you can afford to lose, don’t chase rainbows and research every share that you are looking to invest in. Check historic RNS and feel free to ask investors on a BB what the info contained in them means, most will respond positive to question along those lines.
I wish you all the best going forwards!
Bluebird is actually another promising mining stock.
I'm potentially looking to dip in after EUA sells up.
It's a small gold mining company with a twist - they take old unused mines and reopen them to mine further, S Korea being one of their main projects in Kochang and Gubong.
Morning BlueBird13,
"What is the likelihood of the price being below the current sp value of 0.28p?"
Er, Not very Likely? ... 0.28p...It has Never been that low..
Did you mean ... £0.28 ... or perhaps? ... 28p...
If people post such drivel, please don't expect a straight answer.. haha
II's happily invested at 22.5p. I wonder why.
I think the chance of a sub-28p sale is essentially zero. There is however a risk of no sale, which would cause the price to drop below 28p.
Personally, I think that risk of no sale is very low. But as people say, WTFDIK?!
Beware of people that say it’s 50/50 because there are two possibilities. That’s not how stats work of course.
There is a big hype behind a cloud related share called blackbird (BIRD). They reckon its going to be the next big share. Just seen your user name but it’s bluebird I presume it’s nothing to do with black bird .
Read a book? Learn from online content? Perhaps bring some pre existing knowledge with you and some sort of basic understanding before asking what seem like silly questions? There is a difference between learning and being guided.
Apologies I thought you meant where would sp go from here. Hence 50% answer.
If you mean for sale, 99% chance of it going up.
But you know that from your ongoing research or you wouldn't have asked?
Derisked in every way apart from no sale, but DLA Piper here basically cancels that aspect too.

Bluebird. Strange question. I get that you don’t understand the finer details around sale and sp but if you have to ask your last question, I have to ask why are you buying shares in anything?
It depends whose prediction you use. DYOR
There are two possibilities, up and down.
So it's 50%.
HLM sometimes when multiple parties are involved the so does what it wants until an offer is made. It is announced via RNS and your shares are worth that much. People may then sell, dropping the price, or buy, expecting a counter offer that is higher, and the so rises. And on and on until the company ask the shareholders if they are happy to accept the current offer. Probably suspend the sp while vote goes through.
I think it's different here - Offers from multiple parties have been assessed by UBS as all dealings going on behind closed doors (NDA). Final offer has been agreed (hence Piper on board) and this is being legally binded.
First we will know is RNS to say shares suspended, best offer is x per share. If the shareholders vote to accept you get that per share in (insert days, weeks, months to get paid).
Until then sp wobbles about as people buy, sell for whatever reason.
That's my guess but wtfdik
The price will stay stable @ just below the sale offer. Any share sold will be bought instantly so there will be no downward pressure.
Rerate will be intastant, any shares sold bought instantly by II’s for a sure thing they will be very happy to make a few percent
If you held say 1000 shares and IF the company was sold outright for say £1 a share, your share holding would at some time in the future be exchanged for £1000 cash, up to you if you wish to get out sooner?
Good luck
Thanks for that, KAZ has stabilised it seems.
Take a look at kaz minerals chart 2 days ago got rns for sale
As I’ve never been in this situation with a share before what’s people’s opinion on when the price jumps. Now I’m sure loads will sell their holdings so in turn this will push the price down. Will it be a mad sell day after the news or do you think the big boys will hold on for the extra or counter offers ?
What’s your thoughts ?
