PGM’s are currently being used in the battery development of two high tech Oxford companies , Oxis and Brill , who both have close contact with SFA Oxford who were acquired by Sibanye Stillwater last year
Battery tech is evolving very fast and a vertically integrated business model is essential in this market

What people need to understand, is if Tesla are vertically integrating mines for speed, then the competitors will also need to in order to stand a chance of keeping up with his rate of scale.

Russian firms have a lot of potential to capitalize on higher demand for metals used in manufacturing electric vehicles, wind turbines and super batteries, Apurva Sanghi, lead Russia economist at the World Bank said.
Both the wind power market forecast to grow at a rate of 8% a year by Mordor Intelligence and the electric vehicles industry which Deutsche Bank expects to hit 25 million units a year by 2030 are fast-growing sectors which need metals that Russia has in abundance.
Palladium is essential to reducing emissions from cars. Russia is the single-biggest producer in the world said Saxo Bank Steen Jakobsen. With governments in the EU falling over themselves to introduce subsidies for low-emissions vehicles, the German car industry will be knocking on the door of companies like [Russias] Eurasia Mining producers of palladium, gold and platinum.
They won’t be the only battery manufacturer, others will use similar technology in part of world where eua are
No, there are posters suggesting the possibility, there were posters claiming that they would never get involved with mining. He has got a lithium clay deposit, so he his getting involved with mines to vertically integrate his entire model for speed.

Tesla havn't built a multi billion doller Battery Gigafactory in the Nevada desert with space to expand it 7 fold for nothing They have a 5, 10, 50 year plan for their business along with their partners, Panasonic. They are identifying and sourcing for the future.
The other thing, he has told everyone vertical integration is his aim, that lithium clay deposit they have got, has enough to supply the U.S market. But, that isn't the only market in the world is it, so what will he require for the other markets. You can learn a lot about what is to come from a presentation like Teslas. And lithium is only one part of his cell, further vertical integration is needed to make his plan work for accelerating the change.

In the video Rowka posted a weeks or so ago, Dmitry stated that he will not put all eggs in once basket And that diversifying distribution is key in his strategy... if we are sold to one this goes out the window however, and the video was shot well before his M&A role was announced.
No M&A position, without M&A activities. Simple
NDA's happyscot, you would never know until the bid lands, that's the FACT of the situation here. You do know what vertical intergration is right?. He has his lithium mine, but that is only one part of his battery cell.
GLA
Look at the battery tech patents from the article in this thread, it's not like the PGM's in a battery idea is something that was made up, it wasn't, research found the Anglo JV on the tech quite some time ago. It's a massive positive for the PGM industry, if they do also find their way into batteries during this energy transition.
He still needs a child labour free source of cobalt by the way.
GLA
NDA’s signed no one know who is or isn't buying eua or its assets as we currently stand.
No one seriously thought Tesla were going to buy EUA lol
.
If he was making a move for MT, you would never know until the bid was on the table, NDA's have been signed. He couldn't announce anything like that in his presentation, he can only mention the thimgs they have managed to buy so far.
GLA
It was only ever a possibility happyscot, just like any other porential buyers that get mentioned. Watch the presentation, they're still talking vertical intergration to speed up the process from mining materials to them being at the cathode etc. They've acquired a lithium play in Nevada from what they were saying, so yes it does very much look like he will get miners if he needs them.
GLA
Great to see PGMs will still be required by electric cars, another tick in the box for our product and one less thing the derampers can moan about.
This is looking exceptionally good....
Indeed Mac4671
This is looking very very good
Nice find, that builds on what i've been sharing, it's good to see patents.

Dear all
Please see attached press release (dated 14/9/2020) link on the US patent filed to accelerate next generation of Lithium Air batteries using palladium and platinum.
It is very possible that Tesla has something up their sleeve covering platinum group metals.
