Just catching up from last nights conversations and was saddened to read your loss Pepsicle. There is a lot going on at the moment which brings us to the truth that there is more to life than making money. I echo what others have said and hope you have a loving and supportive network around you.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Take care.
Kev
Thank you Colin and all, he left 3 wonderful grandchildren for me which is a blessing. I have actually been transforming a rather unloved section of garden with incredible views, I am making it a memory garden for him, its been hard work preparing but am now at the planning stage. Doing this has not only kept me busy but gives me some peace too.
This is the most Ive spoken in 18months so thank you for your support.
Stay safe and treasure every moment with loved ones.
Full steam ahead on the good ship Eurasia
Hi pepsicle, I am 67 going on 68 inApril, and have had a wonderful life and I am a pragmatist, but they say to have to say goodbye to one of your children is the hardest thing to bare, my heart goes out to you Colin x
Hi Pepsicle. So sorry to read of your loss. As you say life can be so hard at times, but we can also have some wonderful times and memories. Everyone take care and enjoy life to the full
Thank you so much, I'm actually a mum though xx
I rarely post but I have to say how sorry I am for your loss Pepsicle; no father expects to bury their son, all our worst nightmare.
I hope you can hang on to the good memories and learn to cope with the heartbreak. You will learn to cope but the loss will stay for ever. Stay strong and I hope you have good support. Talk, talk and talk but don't bottle it up. There are people out there who will listen.
Kauvina - Great you made a full recovery & a sense of humour is always the best tonic .
Pepsicle -so very sorry for your horrific loss , no child should be taken before there parents ,
Pepsicle, truly awful. So sorry.
Gosh, this feels like a virtual family, it's truly heartwarming.
I lost one of my sons 18months ago and still awaiting the inquest due to covid, he was just 33.
Life is so hard at times and I'm sure most of us here have had our share of trauma in one way or another but for those of you going through it now I sincerely wish you the best outcomes.
I am truly moved by the empathy shown here.
Best of luck to you all ( said with tears falling)
Enjoy every day you get. Snowman, Gary, and the stories from fellow shareholders on this board all tell the same story, and that is to make the very most of your time. Life's a very short and precious thing and it's a tough old slog at the best of times.
Take the best of care you can, good luck with any and all treatments, all the best to all of you.
GLA
diagnosed with bladder cancer 13 years ago, but after two operations and afterwards some heat treament with a lance which passed through the camera and burnt off the growths have now been clear for seven years. On a light-hearted note, after my first investigation I told my wife that the nurses wore suspender belts and fish net stockings as an erection was essential to get the camera through the eurethra - she only believed me for a split second knowing my sense of humour.
Good luck with any further treatments you have to endure.
Thanks to all for your kind words.
Ian & All
Afternoon mate ,
Heart warming post from a very genuine guy
, all the best of luck to you & all who are suffering with health issues on there plates .
Franny - the best of luck for your other half .
Somebody said other day on here that guys find it hard to discuss personal health issues & that is absolutely true,
What’s very sad is how many have so much on there plates & keep it in , & I guess sometimes seems easier to share anonymously with others .
Good luck all in life
Afternoon, Stix,
It certainly is lovely out looking through the window, will love to get out and be able to go places again!
I hope you and your wife have fully recovered after having caught covid?
Take care, young sir,
All the best
Ian
afternoon MC Ian
great post as usual ! you have been the stanley level on here , keeping the board on a nice level and even Keel !
stay strong which I'm sure you are.
all the best for the coming weeks with EUA
current bun today beautiful .
Good Afternoon,
You really are a lovely bunch of kind-hearted and caring fellow EUA investors to post such kind comments when some of you have gone through similar chronic diseases.
Franny1968, (neighbour, of Leigh on sea) so sorry to hear of your wife's plight, and we wish her all the luck in the world for a good, and positive outcome, and that goes for anyone similarly afflicted, we do care for our fellow brethren on this EUA chat board because we have mostly been here so long we have got to know one another, albeit, from a distance!
We even want to meet up and congratulate one another when this share finally plays out! due to the pleasant comradery we have shared along the way! and showing care towards our sick fellow investors in their time of need if they have shared in the good fight with the negative posters along the way is a normal feeling!
Money is not everything, but if we make some, and a few friends along the way, what's not to like!
Just saying, thank you everyone, you all hold a special place in my heart!
Yes, perhaps men don't normally discuss heath issues, but once you are thrown together in the oncology department and you see the same people with similar problems every day, you do start to chat, and you soon find it helps to talk, you are not alone and it gives you strength in numbers.
When anyone finishes their Radiotherapy course of treatment at the hospital, there is this big brass bell on the wall and you get to ring it, and then everyone in the waiting area whoops and claps and wishes you well!
It is a lovely sunny day out there today and it should lift everyone's spirit up, hopefully, soon we will be able to go out and meet up with friends and acquaintances after being vaccinated and Boris gives us the ok, get my jab next Thursday at 9 am.
Very sad, The Gleneagles guest house we used to go to to meet up on a Thursday for breakfast was in the Evening Echo and may go bust before the lockdown is lifted, very sad for the husband and wife proprietors that put their life and soul into building up the small business. They get £2000 a month from the government, but it does not pay the mortgage and bills!
Good luck everyone, this stock is getting more and more undervalued each day with the rise in the value of the minable PGM's, and let's not forget that lovely Rhodium that is on a tear!
The FSP must be close to a conclusion by now in anyone's mind and the price paid per share literally anyone's guess!
But, with the time this has taken and the inground value continually rising, I do think we might actually be very pleasantly surprised and this may well exceed our more mid-range valuations :-)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone and here's to next week and hopefully a rise back into the 30s!
It has been a very pleasant bot-free few days on here lately, long may it continue!
Take care and stay safe everyone,
Kindest regards
Ian
Yes, best wishes to all here who are going through it and it’s good to see there are plenty of genuine posters on here who while being on a finance related BB, know that money is not the most important thing in life.
Best of luck everyone on here esp Ian and Portsmouth who I dont know personally but seem decent folk. Great strides have taken place in cancer treatmemt in recent years and it is very beatable no matter what grade. Hopefully, Eurasia will be sold off for a large amount in next few weeks and change people lives for the better after a rubbish last year. Cheers
Franny.....Best wishes to your missus.....
I've been a bit engrossed in work for a week or two and only had the chance to skim the board now and then. Sorry to hear about the awful position of Ian and Portsmouth as well as wk fight the coronavirus.
Not sure if it's the average age of this board but I'm glad we live in enlightened times. A few years ago men never discussed any personal problems, as Ian said recently - a problem shared is a problem halved.
You can't put a value on good health and a big smile.
I'm sticking with March 30th an £3.72
Good luck all invested
Tick TOCK
Yes, all the best chaps. My missus is going in for a mastectomy in 10 days time. It's a truly grim disease.
All the finest wishes to Ian and Portsmouth. Thoughts with you . You'll be fine - Good Luck to us all.
Sentiments echoed guys. Wasn't to be yesterday in the RNS stakes so SL will have to wonder what might have been - but like being a Spurs fan all hope and crushing disappointment!!
The Big C in various forms has hit my family hard over the years. ***** to deal and live with but trust you two gents to fight the good fight and give it what for. You certainly have the support of the BB so hope that helps in some way.
I would also like to wish Ian and Portsmouth best wishes. Stay strong chaps you’ve got this.
To Ian and Portsmouth.
Wishing you well and a speedy recovery.
