Tweet from GB 25th Sept:
"Taken extremely serious. 100% of test chips are recovered and recycled in sealed hazard bags before removal from scanning unit"
and then again in response to the following tweet:
"Will the chips be reused/recycled to avoid being ended up in seas causing further pollution?
I am sure it will be and you thought it through
@gjbrandon"
GB's response:
"Yes, fully recoverable and thoroughly thought through"
Indeed...........!
biohazard was me finking.........! but a personnel bit of kit, if a positive detected, no harm done........... !
All the best (Isolate house hold......... supply yellow bio bag........ :()

For me the USP for the BT is when it is able to identify pre symptomatic/asymptomatic as well as symptomatic, it really would be a game changer. I have high hopes for the Aberdeen results and hope we will get an early xmas present re this.
"Q20: how much is the breathalyser to the public or would government pay for it?
Each test is expected to be less than or equal to $5 (about £4). Your personal hand-held unit costs about $25 (£20) Breathalyser which contains enough saline solution for about 1 month. This is replaceable for $4 (£3.50) and you may continue to use your Microtox BT unit with each test. It may or may not have government subsidy."
From the AGM Apin..........!
All the best (watch out for trolls, and DYOR ..... :()
Lol well yes good timesaving for a country hopping traveller/businesperson but surely for your shopping fanatics. Yes its a slowly disppearing activity but loads of people still want walk down streets and visit actual shops. For shops in a mall i guess there would be one scan on the way into the entire complex but on the streets u would presumably need to scan into every shop. Well for some people that could easily be 10 scans in a matter of a few hours, and maybe many more! Doubt ur going to open up the high st if u need a 15 test every time. Same applies to people going out and visiting numerous bars/pubs. Scanning via ur phone seems the most effective flexible solution. Questions i have is who pays for the 'atm machine' scanners that need to be everywhere; would the gov subsidise/pay for the costs of the scanners and breathalisers; and since this scanner 'infrastructure' will presumably take some time to role out, and therefore rapid tests could already be established, how much enthusiasm would there be for another type of test, especially if not publicized and backed by the gov?
Wow that sound like a full day...6am airport (check) flight, arrive restaurant for early lunch (check), go to football or rugby match (check), go to airport for return flight (check), go to restaurant or show in the evening (check), fall into bed exhausted.
Does anyone know of other rapid test solutions which record results on mobile phone or some other way so that you only need to do one test a day in order to get access to restaurants, pubs, sports/music venues etc? If not then for me this is the biggest advantage of DVs solution. Otherwise if you go to 5-10 places in a day which need verification and wait 15-20 mins at each place, that adds up to a lot of time waiting around!
I'm missing and arm and a leg!
Damned lions! ;o)
Ha ! That’s ok Jack, you only need one arm-hand, to scratch your head, in confusion at this SP !
To late i went for a lion and now i have an arm missing.
Sorry, pick a DEER, not a lion ! I’m even confusing myself.
A bit like the lion, chasing hundreds of deers, confused, unsure which deer to focus on ‘they all look so tasty’ in his confusion, they all escape ! Moral of the story, pick a f’cling lion (sector) catch it, move to the next !
Any sporting event should be using real time testing as part of the ticket conditions for admission going forwards. Clearly testing on site would almost impossible on the day so the idea of a Covid 19 pass app on your phone makes perfect sense. The possibilities are endless for events with large crowds and not just sports. Hopefully the human trials are progressing well and I hope that GB and partners are developing the whole package in parallel rather than series so everything is ready to go live early in 2021 with testing stations in petrol stations and other easily accessible sites, a faultless app in place and the readers working at 100% at venues etc. Of course it does not have to be a UK only service....
Yes robortsmith I'd seen that. But I wasn't thinking football teams but football fans... A means to get the fans back in the stands.
not sure if mentioned but did everyone see gb's tweet about saying "yes" when asked if they have looked at testing football clubs for real time testing? imagine the publicity
