My portfolio been pretty much red last few days , so not worried about lack of movement here at the moment, its a HOLD anyway , so makes no odds
FI. My social status upgrade is in motion. Unlikely I'll be attending any BK sites. Rupert and Harvey would never join me there.
Sure it wasn't a BK99p (burger king 99p meal) Robin?
FI. One young pup carries an AK47 instead of attracting ladies.
One further note Ollie. On my first point, by physical I mean someone actually buying or selling one by one. So 20 quick trades lifts or drops SP. Saw this 10 years ago. Algorithms only came in during last 10 yrs.
Further confusion added to the mix now I guess with these "free" trading platforms.
So the young pups can spend their pocket money buying 5 cine shares at a time.
Two answers Ollie.
1. The small physical ones are there to either increase or decrease sp.
2. The other ones are computer generated. Example: 20,000 shares to be purchased at below 100p. Doesn't have to be on one go so the computer keeps on buying on behalf of MM. I got this info from the father (and investor) of a unit trust manager, 10 yrs ago.
As it’s quiet on here ...Daft question... why do we see very low numbers of buys or sells appearing in Recent Trades. Who would trade just 1 or 2 shares??
There’s an urban myth that it’s MMs communicating. I found this on t’interweb:
100 - I need Shares.
200 - I need Shares badly but do not take the stock down.
300 - Take (or I am taking) the stock down at least 30% so I can load shares.
400 - Keep trading it sideways.
500 - Gap the stock. Gap can be up or down, depending on direction of 500 signal.
505 - I am short on shares
600 - Apply resistance at the ASK to keep the price from increasing.
700 - Move the price up.
777 - Also recognized as a signal to move the price up.
800 - Prepare for an increase in trading volume.
900 - Allow the stock to float and trade freely.
911 - Pending News/Press Release On The Way
1000 - Don't let it run
2100 - Let it run
I’ve seen a ‘1000’ this morning (although I guess that’s a popular number for PIs to buy or sell).
Anyone know anything more about this?
... looking out for a 2100.
Yes volume low so it’s going to take days to fill orders at £1. We’re going to have to be patient folks. Just HOLD.
looking like it may be a slow period with little change in the current trading range, with low volume of the last few days continuing. Mortal Kombat opening in the US tomoz, it's not really a share you want to be out of over a weekend atm. With the financing sorted for the foreseeable I'm comfortable holding.
