If you would like to ask our webinar guest speakers from WS Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund a question please submit them here.
The only explanation I can think of is that as IIs build bigger long positions they need to increase their shorts as insurance, in case there’s a market correction. Just flying a kite here - does anyone have a better theory to explain what’s going on?
Isn’t the Downton Abbey sequel out Xmas time too?
It’s a statement of the bleeding’ obvious from Netflix. They and Sky Cinema have had the market to themselves in the last year but we’re coming back strong!
Absolutely NO CHANCE of me selling on a dip. As someone said earlier, if you want our shares walk the price UP and just keep going!
Apologies for doubting you Number.
Number, would you rather we all sold out then? What’s your position??
Yeah, hang in there people. They’ve taken out the 97, 96 and 95p stops now.
Lat, let’s not have a dig at Fun - he invests a lot of time in keeping the discussion moving along on this board. Truth is, we all have our own strategy and exit point for this share.
More importantly, where’s Robin??? Lost in the Bermuda Triangle last I heard...... compass spinning wildly ... running low on fuel!
* gold not hold
It’s a Mexican standoff - buyers want to buy but sellers know they’re sitting on hold and don’t want to sell.
In a normal market the price goes up until the buy pressure drops or sellers are happy with their profit and sell.
So, the question is, why isn’t this functioning like a normal market, who is distorting it and is it legal?
Or maybe franchise the Cineworld brand in China? A huge market. Jangho’s %age would certainly give them leverage in any negotiations.
Sammy, are you taking the pith?
In 2016/17 AMC were already a huge corporation. Cine were a medium sized, mainly U.K. focussed cinemas chain. Regal acquisition happened in late 2017, completed 2018.
They are very different businesses but both are debt laden. AMC have found it increasingly difficult to borrow at reasonable levels. The last $100 million loan was at over 15%! That’s credit card territory. Furthermore, they have 1.8 billion of commitments due for repayment in 2024 and over $7 billion due in 2026.
I know which share is rather be in.
As it’s quiet on here ...Daft question... why do we see very low numbers of buys or sells appearing in Recent Trades. Who would trade just 1 or 2 shares??
There’s an urban myth that it’s MMs communicating. I found this on t’interweb:
100 - I need Shares.
200 - I need Shares badly but do not take the stock down.
300 - Take (or I am taking) the stock down at least 30% so I can load shares.
400 - Keep trading it sideways.
500 - Gap the stock. Gap can be up or down, depending on direction of 500 signal.
505 - I am short on shares
600 - Apply resistance at the ASK to keep the price from increasing.
700 - Move the price up.
777 - Also recognized as a signal to move the price up.
800 - Prepare for an increase in trading volume.
900 - Allow the stock to float and trade freely.
911 - Pending News/Press Release On The Way
1000 - Don't let it run
2100 - Let it run
I’ve seen a ‘1000’ this morning (although I guess that’s a popular number for PIs to buy or sell).
Anyone know anything more about this?
... looking out for a 2100.
Yes volume low so it’s going to take days to fill orders at £1. We’re going to have to be patient folks. Just HOLD.
His company became one of the largest market-makers - matching buyers and sellers of stocks - until the crash of 2008 brought it down. He was a crook, running a ponzi scheme.
DYOR, keep your wits about you and don’t believe anyone who tells you they know what’s going to happen. They don’t.
Crumpets,
They’re beyond desperate - they’ve deployed iTrader!
Don’t talk rubbish iTrader.
I’ve got tyres on my car older than you.
98p stop losses just gone. Hold your nerve.
We’re being held back because there aren’t enough shares being sold by frustrated PIs to fill a big buy order. That’s why the sp keeps stepping down - to increase the pressure on YOU to sell.
Just HOLD and the sp will recover.
Not advice just common sense. Use your eyes, the economy is opening up and Cine will be making good money soon.
