You're right, any hint of a successful vaccine and the market will jump.
Only one I'm personally monitoring is the oxford study (this is purely due to time)... I found this thread interesting on a possible approach - https://twitter.com/ASlavitt/status/1280283199445311488
Cheers JBS - have a good weekend mate.
Hi Gents.
Great I’ll take a look at that.
Enjoy your tipple put.
Oh, and when a vaccine is confirmed the market could explode. IMO
Hi Jenks; was going to mention Texas - when the BBC etc were indicating Texas was a nightmare of epic proportions the other week they reduced their capacity from 75 to 50% in restaurants - hardly Zombie apocalypse. Right, drinky time - cheers mate.
This is a great point, I've also been watching Open Table since corona started. Really interesting data set. Case studies like Texas, particularly interesting to monitor over the course of this
Also - for a picture more detailed than the banner headlines I came across 'Open Table' website: detailed state by state and updated 4 days ago. Maybe 2 or 3 states residents cannot dine inside a restaurant at this moment, the vast majority of states restaurants are open with 50% capacity. Even 'closed states' have many open sub districts/areas. So when the headlines scream closed, maybe they aint so closed. Have a look at the site, its quite interesting and shows large blanket lockdowns arent the only alternative. Anyways, have a good night all (mostly all).
Big week ahead, echo JBS eyes open comment, keep those peepers on a swivel:
Aspects I'm watching carefully:
Tenet / Mulan marketing - the frequency and geo location, to confirm the studios' approach and if say a staggered country release is on the cards. Commercials for tenet have been seen today with Aug 14 on, yet their social channels haven't posted in a while.
USA Death rate - a lagging indicator (i.e. covid cases go up, death rate follows a few weeks after, we're starting to hit that time period)
Cuomo's comments - The New York governor gives regular in-depth comms on his states reopening where the cases are low and where they've had the peak already. i.e. Malls have been allowed to open with specific filters added to their air conditioning
States - any states rolling back on their reopening
Booking systems opening - daily check
Physical Changes - Would be great if people could check on their local cineworld / regal and report any changes/activity
Happy hunting people, hope it's a fruitful week, whatever side of the fence you're on
Ahhhhhh, I remember it well - and agree that it will return. I think that Nolan will prevail and this date will be adhered to with no more push backs. Sooner or later the ' global opening' will be rationalised under these circumstances and it will be staged, with, several screens in one mutiplex showing blockbusters to ensure a 'normal' opening weekend return. Also Europe, Israel, UK will open with large swathes of the USA. USA accounts for 75% of screens/sites but according to 'Statistica' it accounted for 63.86% of Cine retail in 2019 with uk/Europe/other accounting for 36.14%. Holding firm myself, long term/even longer term. Cheers.
This was the day after the bank holiday when Boris announced on the Monday the lockdown is on target to the lifted with a stage system. Look at shares across on that day, they flew up over the next 4 days and into the following Monday. And on that Monday we manage to hold at 1 pound all day. It was simply 5 days of a bull rally on good news we were moving forward, presumably out of covid eventually. Then on the Tuesday everything fell to sh**t for days and weeks after.
We will hit another massive bull rally at some point. As soon as the big money boys decide to flood the market with cash all shares will fly. But unfortunately we will never know so keep your eyes open people.
My view anyway, lol
