RS2002 - I think it's the fact that you relentlessly posted rampy posts trying to reassure and encourage others, and belittling those with an opposing view. Karma indeed I'm afraid.
Sorry to read about this guys....
Looks all too easy these days to file a chapter 11 stateside:-
"Cineworld is expected to file a chapter 11 petition in the US, and is also considering filing for an insolvency proceeding in the UK"
Hopefully they don't and you can get a restructure deal but its probably a slim chance.
Having just wrote off an eye watering sum myself with an Investment in 4D Pharma that filed a chapter 11 I feel your pain. Thing is they know they file a chapter 11 and that's the debt written off, any assets sold, the likes of AMC will just pluck out the offerings and it will go to those with the charges first.
BOD are accountable for this IMO. AMC is starting to recover, there is a lot of scope for Cineworld but handling poor, they could have done better but we are where we are.
Good luck for next week guys, not much more to say is there really...
Personally I see no point selling now. I average 0.38. The time to cut losses was 12p yesterday not 3.5p. I'm basically wiped out as it is. Would I sell for 12p now? Absolutely. Is there any point me cashing in for a couple k now? Absolutely not.
I seem to live in Forecasters head rent free - if only Mooky could secure such a tenancy agreement!
Today has been a tough day for all investors.
If the rumours of administration are true, my sympathies for all genuine investors. I too hold an investment and will be very disappointed if it does go down. That said, we are all grown up and make investments based on risk vs reward. As others have posted, it is only money which can be made again elsewhere and through numerous other investments.
To those who have posted gloating about the demise of others losing money, karma exists for a reason.
Keep your spirits up and let us await the next official news from Cineworld.
I dont think a case of shafting shareholders. They are protecting themselves. There is an impending court case looming in October. Most likely be an out of court settlement. With a very low market cap and very little liquidity the circa 900 million is likely to be substantially reduced.
Of course stating making plans or preparing for bankruptcy plays well into the hands of cineworld.
They have not defaulted on any of their payments.
Expect masses of volatility in the SP until end of October. You may well here of an out of court settlement payment. No side will really want to go to court. It is this impending court case that has led to the rapid decline in the SP.
Not long to wait I would hazard a guess around out of court settlement fee by end of September. The only guaranteed to make money are the brokers that are having a field day.
'These lower levels of admissions are due to a limited film slate that is anticipated to continue until November 2022 and are expected to negatively impact trading and the Group's liquidity position in the near term.'
Note the use of the phrase 'near term'
High risk? of course but at these levels so is the likely hood of very high gains.
PH recently and just prior to the RNS on the 17th dropped Cineworld target from 32p to 20p.
Weigh up the pros and cons and dont be swayed by those that have a different view than yours. Look for valid reasoning in points of view.
One final point I will make is that if and when an out of court settlement is made then Cineworld should then flourish. November onwards i would contemplate with a corresponding increase in the SP.
Regards and to all and that is irrespective of your point of view.
I have left 14K + 2k value in share dealing and ISA, and left for the gamble on Monday RNS.
Overall lost 50K + 18K, cannot believe what happened.
RS2002 has to step in after speaking to his Cine manager friends - but nothing - why?
The story is in a lot of local papers. People will be worried about their jobs now.
They have to say something to them surely.
May get more clarification on the wsj piece hopefully. True or false.
Its too much if a biggie not to be all over it over the weekend or an rns
@shazabo, I think there will be no statement today. CINE will think about it over the weekend and decide whether to shaft the shareholders or not. Whatever statement they issue will determine that.
Tick tock, last ten mins to decide in or out, rns or no rns denying any bankruptcy... Roulette wheel is spinning...
If it turns out to be true….. You can’t get blood from a stone. I believe it’s fake news warped to help someone’s agenda whether to try sabotage Cineworld or a plan to give minimal value to screw cineplex when the court case happens, but you might as well see it till the end! Either way we have stayed this long and agree we should form telegram group for future shares
Raise your hands who is courageous enough to stay in over the weekend?? \/
... And who leaked it to the wall street journal!!!
all, if this bankruptcy turns out to be the case, maybe we should form a group of interest and sue Cine for publishing misleading and conflicting information that brought us material loss.
