Worth looking at VERY's results yesterday which bode very well for BWNG imo. Probably explains the sharp rise here .I'd imagine the Home Essentials division is flying. Clearly rerating going here on top of that for ecommerce retailers with results coming in so strong.
Hopefully will get a trading statemnt with the AGM at 13/9......that should raise forecasts one would hope.
if JD Williams is for the oldies, why has N Brown shoved (hidden) all the younger brands under the JD Williams umbrella? Again, the structure looks odd.
As Ian alluded to it’s simply not right to be comparing the brands to the likes of Boohoo it’s a completely different Target market.
It’s like the famous quote from Lamborghini marketing, you never see a Lamborghini advert on tv, because the people who can afford them aren’t sitting around watching tv. It’s the same situation here by large especially for the likes of jd williams where I believe the average age is 50+ the vast majority of the target market simply isn’t on social media so why would you be looking to push it. They’re not going to be getting anywhere near the same engagement as brands like boohoo who’s whole target market is younger people who are glued to social media.
I’m sure as time goes on, the population ages and there’s a older digital generation the focus will shift more towards social media.
That being said I do know that a lot of the current social media team were let go to bring in new people during covid so it’s definitely something they identify they can improve on.
Hi Ian I brought in yesterday thanks for all the info you post
Youtube is pretty irrelevant - customers here are of a more mature outlook and Less likely to browse social media than kids buying boohoo clothes.
The bottom line is this company has made a big transition to online sales and is returning to growth. They returned to profit in the last FY with £27m post tax Profit and have a tiny mcap compared to peers. The plan is to get back to the £70mil profit Of 2016
H3RO,
As I said look at Gymshark. Their Youtube channel has 255k subs and 28,442,507 views.
15k followers on instagram is pants. BOO has 6.7m followers and Gymshark has 4.8m
If companies find the right content it's a great way to grow a following and get free advertising. I also think Jacamo need to hookup with someone more relevant then bloody Freddie Flintoff
They need to do better
Their Instagram has 15x more followers....clothing brands will obviously use Instagram & Facebook for their marketing to consumer advertising. You do realise YouTube is video content lol
H3RO,
You are kidding aren't you? Look at: Gymshark
Ian.B,
Look here: https://www.youtube.com/user/JacamoUK
Probably because brands rarely use YouTube as a social media marketing tool lol
Hi JetJock,
I hope I wasn't ramping, just trying to make others aware of a possible missed opportunity:-)
Patts, its a TV advert open to a mass audience. Numbers of Views on the group website mean nothing, that will just be shareholders taking a look. Ive seen it, i didn't like or comment On it?
I doubt many Paying customers actually visit the group website Either, they will be visiting the websites of the brands they want to buy from,, each has their own website.
I just spent a few minutes to look through the Jacamo Youtube channel.......It's not good!
They joined 2010, are a large brand with 60 videos and yet they only have a total of 1.1 million views; many of their videos have less than a thousand views. They even got a video with: Kearnan Myall, Dave Allen, Luke Campbell and Freddie Flintoff that only has 206 views, 3 likes and no comments.
Whoever is running the YT channel is clueless.
This is being ramped all over the boards so thought id take a look. And i like it so have just bought in.
Yeah the Ad looks good but only 566k views in 6 weeks and even worse is the lack of interactivity, only 22 likes and 8 comments.......that's plan crap

Go to the website and watch the latest Jacamo TV ad - very on-trend, they need to calm it down!
https://www.nbrown.co.uk/
The best way to find out more Halfful75 and Gpickup is to go to nbrown.co.uk/investors and click on the presentation download. It's a very impressive document from an ambitious ceo and management team who have a dynamic plan to take N Brown forward quickly. You will get all the information you need about where BWNG is heading. This is why the big II are now starting to invest again. Looking at the numbers and track record this looks to be £1.20p by January 2021, with £2.00 by next July (2021). 18-24 months for £2.50 but might come a lot sooner. Good luck, Brighty
Patts they are aware of social media and there is a job vacancy for influencer manager - but got to Instagram and search #simplybe and #Jacamo. They are well into it already
Yep the group name is a bit dull But the brand names are not bad, certainly simply bee and jacamo. The clothing these two brands sell includes many of the top end and trendy names. Ralph Lauren, Helly Hanson, Adidas, Calvin Klein etc etc....
I’m not overly interested in that just that the company makes a lot of profit and is seriously under valued compared to other large on line retailers.
The target market is completely different to boohoo and co.. not forgetting they have just launched in April a home essentials stand alone brand which has its own website. For folk who want a new LG TV or some patio furniture and want to pay for it monthly as they dont have a spare grand.
I agree, BWNG seriously needs a rebrand the business and improve their social media
I agree and understand about the brands and websites, if however we are talking about getting the share price to where it should be then the name of the holding company which is quoted could be more appealing to the market and investors. Something to capture all the brands but in a more modern and tech way would work better as this is currently driving investment.
Thanks for the info Ian. I do feel a couple of the names scream old fashioned and could do with a revamp. Simplybe and jacamo work but the others I’ve never heard of and sound like they sell BHS’s seconds. Just my opinion I’m no marketing expert.
Websites seem ok, a little jumbled on occasions. Definitely feel the around the 60 age range, got a few quid, can use a computer but liable to cark it getting Covid going out. Still unsure whether to invest will need to do a bit more research I think...gla
And SimplyBe good for the plus size Girl/Woman. Nothing wrong with a good curve!
NBROWNG group brands all have their own websites.

1. - 2- 3 years ago they were mainly retail shops. Research showed the trend was less footfall on the high street and retail Business was inn decline as the trend moved to online buying. They have transitioned to online digital 85% Since then that caused some remodelling and costs. The last 12 months they are back to profit making £27million post tax, £3 mil more than ASOS did last year!
2. Name Nbrown does sound dour put the customers dont see that name they see the brand names. - Have a look on the website if you are not familiar.
