Is Debenhams a brand? I think of it as a retailer/platform. Somewhere you can get lots of brands under one roof. So it can never really be described as a dated brand. That’s the beauty, it can’t really go out of fashion, brands that go out of fashion stop selling and get replaced with more fashionable ones. Debenhams is iconic in the U.K. Are some of the brands dated that they sell? Maybe to one section of society, but I’d argue that they only exist if they are selling so what appeals to teens will not appeal to the more mature shoppers. So all in all I think Debenhams has more potential than Boohoo. (Which is just a brand for teenagers) it has a bigger target audience and will provide a platform for the boohoo group to service a growing customer base. I wonder if we could buy a similarly large platform in America that customers would recognise.
Get over yourself
So then Kitty,
Why do you spend so much of your own time on this board then? As usual you’ve just contradicted yourself completely in a few paragraphs.
I like Boo, I don’t like boo, I’m waiting but why am I wasting my time when I feel it will only go to 370.
Everyone of your posts is the same, like your own internal battle.
Perhaps stop wasting your own personal time on this board as you’re not invested and frankly have nothing to add and are very repetitive and go and do something useful with it. Or maybe just maybe go and discuss things on forums for stocks you actually own, for which you say there are many.

Nah I’m doing well in lots of places but thanks for your thoughts - I’m quite open about my entry point otherwise the return isn’t worth it - while I think Debenhams is a dated brand (did you honestly ship there a lot?) I do like other Boo brands (except Burton’s). But I only invest when I can see a decent return balanced to risk & honestly how much can boo go up in a year from 320? Maybe 370 so no bitterness here, but if you like to think it is then knock yourself out. I’m only here to buy & sell when the time is right & there is zero bitterness as there are thousands of other shares moving for me vs being stuck here waiting for 10-15%
Kittykitty. You are wrong again as ever. Debenhams failed because they were loaded with unsustainable debt by VC. The fat cats got thier pay day and left Debenhams with the baby. Your starting to sound bitter as your entry price isn’t being realised.
Morning all, one of the companies I have on my watch list is Warpaint London ( cosmetics ). Their share price has risen nicely over the last few weeks. I wonder if there will be a connection to Boohoo.
Errr Debenhams still existed selling beauty products but let’s see how many flock to that dated brand shall we
Here kitty, why on earth would an article concerned with online beauty stockists mention a new Debenhams website that has hardly any beauty products on there yet? My understanding from the webcast presentation last week is that boohoo are in the process of loading product to the website and are expecting to have pretty much all the brands that were previously sold by Debenhams on site and expect to me in communication with previous customers including the beauty club members by peak season (autumn).
My understanding from your earlier post is that you don’t believe people will buy beauty products from Debenhams so it confuses me somewhat that you don’t believe in the boards strategy but you are claiming that you would still buy shares if the price dropped below £3.00.
You seem to take great delight in criticising or issuing jibes at other posters who love boohoo, have held them for many years through thick and thin and will continue to hold for many years to come because you perceive their blind faith in the company and it’s future to be flawed in some way. Yet on the other hand you are suggesting the company is not doing things right and their future strategy is wrong yet you are looking to buy in to it.
It’s no wonder there’s been a few posts questioning your integrity!

It used to be a thing for girls/ladies to go into shops to try make up which is why it worked but Debenhams was failing for a reason. House of fraser, Harrods, Harvey Nics, Selfredges, Boots, John Lewis etc still all offer the in-store make up experience & were out performing Debenhams, hence why Debenhams failed & the others are still going. So switching to buying your make up online & there are loads of options, incl all the above mentioned stores, but pure online focused sites as well. Also once people know the brand of make up they use they can buy direct or from a larger retail site & the likes of Amazon is loaded with them https://www.bestproducts.com/beauty/g2549/highly-rated-beauty-skin-products-on-amazon/ so not sure what reason there is for people to flock back to a failed brand like Debenhams for make up? Just my view
Internet fashion giant Boohoo has lined up 200 cosmetics brands for a major relaunch of Debenhams online this autumn
