Yep, the interviewer says maybe some time in March and Thorwaldsson says that's a good guess.
I don't think the parties now asked to give their opinions will come up with something new, so I personally don't see this taking too long.
I think the window is mid Feb to end of March for a decision (purely speculative) anything after March and we ain't looking to good imo. I personally think Thor will deliver a decision whatever that may be and the retrace today is healthy. Sets us up nicely and we remain bullish imo.
Sorry for late reply Suzy...yes, the Swedes that have listened to the radio interview have mentioned that Thor said nothing about March
If the reporter is taking liberties with 'shortly after' and there's been no mention of March...we could be back to February then. LOL
The reporter comments that a decision is expected in March, i.e., his interpretation/guess on when the decision will be announced.
A decision will be made in March, now announces Minister of Trade and Industry Thorwaldsson.
Why wouldn't that be correct?
Remember when it was reported the date for submissions from the Sami Parliament has been extended to 2 February there was a massive sell off. Either Sverigesradio is reporting something misleading or it's a mis translation. How mis translated could it be; could it be by March...if it was sometime after March there would be no point in mentioning March, forthcoming would do nicely.
suspect stop losses were triggered which leads to more of a drop and then more stop losses triggered etc
The issue with the self off today is psychological, so many false dawns all as a result of Swedish politics and bureaucracy, it’s no small wonder that investera collectively sh@t the bed on the smallest indication of a return to the default position re govt.
If it's nothing to do with the March or not date as reported, what is it that has caused Karl-Petter Thorwalsson's credibility to fall so far in one day that 44m shares were trade on the Aktie today as the price fell by 12.97%?
This is nothing to do with any specific date.
It is 100% about Thor's credibility, which is fading fast. Hence today's high volume sell off in both markets.
Well this is all very interesting. The link that AdF posted this morning very clearly says that the Minister (K-PT) will announce a decision in March. But it seems that people listening to the interview (also in the link) are of the view that K-PT makes no mention of March. It looks to me like a lot of people accepted the reporting of March as being true, hence the share price drop today. Personally I wouldn't have expected an announcement before March, but WDIK. Hopefully we'll get some clarification on this, perhaps by RNS tomorrow?
I agree. If you listen to the interview Thor says nothing about a decision in March. He only says that they will wait for the Sami statement before making a decision.
Thor is pressed on whether he likes reindeer as much as mining and says that he likes reindeer as much but that he will not give any info on the decision now.
All in all, it is an interview that does not really say anything new. Nothing bad, nothing good!
Yeah it was their own conclusions, Thor never said anything about March. Many people in sweden use stop-loss orders so when they go down under 2 sek forexample their sell orders are put on the market. They'll probably have to buy back the shares the next few days as nothing has changed at all about the case
Following the Swedes on Facebook, it seems the reporter has drawn his own conclusion and written the wrong thing. Thor says a couple of weeks after final comments which equates Feb 16th ish.
“I would say today’s activity on the markets both here and in Sweden display a very healthy skepticism for the minister’s words. What are you going to do / say when March comes and goes without a decision?”
Exactly. There is an intention to make a decision in March. Therefore we can just hope they make good on that intention.
Well that's yet to be seen I suppose...I would be very annoyed and deflated but for now I'm taking his word for it.
Some Swedes on FB has listened to the radio interview and say that Thor mentioned nothing about March.
Are there any Swedes here that could listen to it and confirm yay or nay? TIA
Give your head a wobble lbjj... it’s boring. You’d start an argument in an empty room
PAYJJ eat al,
I would say today’s activity on the markets both here and in Sweden display a very healthy skepticism for the minister’s words.
What are you going to do / say when March comes and goes without a decision?
March can be interpreted as March, however forthcoming was always a loose term...I feel this is pretty firm
Given the swede’s abject performance over the past nine years, the only firm date I am prepared to acknowledge is the day a legally watertight decision is reached and properly communicated to all stakeholders simultaneously ( which would be a first )
Saying March is no different to previous ministers using words like forthcoming and prioritised.
Until it’s happened, nothing is firm at all.
Yes, it's better to get a firm date rather than "after 'date'"
Much has been said about the Minister moving the decision date forward but he hasn't. Firstly he said the decision would be made in the near future after receipt of the Sami submission and then, today he says the decision will be made in March. Nothing there to complain about, its perfectly straightforward...ie if he means March 2022. Lol.
Ah thanks TSP, yes same here...a decision date is confirmed (after Feb) as being March. Can't see the thinking why anyone would sell now before decision, especially with how Thor feels about mines
topped up a while ago and will add more if we see another dip
