Will be good for us though in a perverse way unfortunately
Sky news earlya, astra zenica have doubled there capacity too 1 billion doses a year if the vacine does work, that will take approximately 7 years to vacinate the planet so that will be perfect (NOT)
Dear Boot, I'm in all the way. It's not deramping to ask the brains about potential influencing factors. It's more like destressing.
If they cured everything thing like flu and colds the big drug companies wouldn’t make any money now would they
The Oxford ChAd virus did not show good results in macaques so viral load was similar in both groups.Presumably showed some promise on humans for them to escalate up the trial process but all Vax gave a big element of doubt and lots of risk with approaches.
Completely different to a flu Vax where new antigenic strains are added each year depending on predictive field strains.
Any Covid 19 approach targeting either Spike Glycoprotein or Nucleocapsid protein will probably not stimulate both humoral and CMR so plenty left to do.
It may be that AVCT with other parts of portfolio could have a role in combatting Covid 19 with therapeutics such as viral neutralising antibodies.
My next door neighbour is a nurse and she just told me that they can take holiday now because they won’t be allowed any in September/October as fully expecting 2cnd spike
Unfortunately this not going away
Test test test till the cows come home
lochranzalad..You must be an olde un if you use the name of the lindsay charnock multiple winner..LP
Only a complete balloon would believe we are near to a vaccine, the consequences of getting a vaccine wrong are way too high to rush this. Vaccines take years for a reason, anyone who has even knowledge of the process knows this so try another avenue to deramp , this one is silly
Oh and milkmonsta
Mr Spacetomato
You have to be the best poster on here
Along we we with richken,Chengdu and sleepydave
Yeah, how you would like your vaccine, sir? Just font look at the Zombie monkeys we tested it on. They looked fine for a few weeks, but then, they refused to eat bananas for some reason and started to have some inclination for monkey brains!
Our supplier are still looking why, and the result of their research will be divulged on the Lancet next year!
Ops, is it the same Lancet that had go withdraw their screwed up results on hydroxychloroquine this week?
No, thanks. I prefer the tic-tac over there.
A test will always be required IMO. Vaccine may wear off so medication probably more important once test confirmed re-infection. It is also possible, depending on the type of vaccine (live attenuated, inactivated, etc), that some groups of the population may not be able to use the vaccine (those on immunosuppressants). GLA
There is a flu vaccine . The strains change each year and the vaccine is constantly modified to suit .
Do you think that they might be able to find a vaccine for flu whilst they're at it?
A proven vaccine would potentially affect all covid stocks , some more than others .However, there seems to be a growing number of people who would refuse the vaccine altogether. Hence testing , or the type of medication that Avct seem to be looking at may well counter the vaccine situation. If the vaccine is here to stay then Covid treatment and testing could be too .Ultimately it's all speculative .I have tailored my punt accordingly.
Yeah thats what i thought ( he lied trying not to look too stupid and flakey).
If vaccine was 100% by end of July I wouldn’t care because Avactas share price will be £5 by then so not bothered
I think with the monkey trials they showed positive for infection but didnt get sick. So draw your own conclusions
I’m thick
And I know that it wouldn’t affect Avacta at all
“We wont' know until August whether it works, it won't be available until the end of the year, then you need to get people to take it. I won't be taking a vaccine or letting my kids take one with a few months of rushed testing....so pretty much zero in my opinion.....plus you still need to be able to test people.” Courtesy of SeeThreeIPO @ 16:35pm.
Astra Zenica going into phase II/III trials with Oxford vaccine. I heard that the oxford vaccine didnt actually work so is this genuine ? Also would it affect Avactas testing market? Im in for the long term but wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this?
