YorkshireLife, how much of a premium did Imagination go for in the end?
Thanks and yes that sounds like a fair assessment. I am also invested and am wondering if I should invest more if it is so clear this will be bought out. But I am quite happy with how much I have in so will sit tight and wait. I'm sure it will be one of those that when it does get sold we'll all be saying how we knew it was going to happen and how annoying it was that we didn't put more money where our mouths were
Bunsen - every sign so far has been for a sale to happen. The worry I have is will one of the multiple interested parties meet the asking price, and I am sure that’s what is stopping a pile in effect too. On top of that there is precious little operational and communications activity, in these media streaming times people want instant gratification from their purchases, quite simply it is a bit quietly boring waiting for the deal to be announced. Shallow trader types seem to have wandered off, whilst institutions are tweaking only based on find variations having already taken their starting positions. Only a few have added more than a couple of million shares.
I’m obviously invested, I won’t put more in but have certainly put my money and mouth in the same place. I agree it is quite surprising that there are not more people believing the take out price will be worth the risk.
Different company and different business, but I experienced a similar roller coaster ride holding IMG (Imagination Technology) before their buy-out.
Same state of play leading up to the buy-out... SP depressed, volatile movements on good v bad news. Even after the bid came in... The Market still discounted the SP and various folk turned up on the BB telling us that the deal would probably fall through due to a variety of unknowns...
Fast forward and the deal was done - at a big premium - delivered as promised.
Whilst I appreciate: the end result here "could" be a different one... the lesson I learned there was: sit tight - ignore the naysayers - and wait for the outcome.
Haha good answer well played sir. I’m invested but am struggling to understand why people are so convinced but your point stands to reason!!
Because the people that are so convinced are already invested.
If people are so convinced this will be bought out then quite simply, why aren’t more people investing in this company? #foolsgold?
