Rooky,
Hull maybe a new address that Hiiroc are moving into, if you Google Hiiroc, you'll find they are or were a chemistry lab in London.. 60 Cannon Street, EC4N 6NP
Southernhay,
There are labs at the Hull University premises in Cottingham Road Hull, so that's probably where HiiRoc do their stuff.
As a side note..Its becoming more popular for R&D businesses to locate into university building, as you only have to research where many new tech/bio is evolving from in all areas including green technology/medicine/science ect.
Yep, That's the building. plenty of innovative green energy logo's near the entrance.
Hulll as you said....

"Zero-emission, low cost, Hydrogen generation. Thermal Plasma Electrolysis system produces H2 at the price of steam methane reforming with the emissions of electrolysis - NONE. HiiROC modular units are infinitely scalable from 400kg/day. With a footprint of two square metres, HiiROC units can deliver on-site Hydrogen, cheaper, cleaner and faster"

400kg of H2 contains 13,332kWh of energy. If an AFC fuel cell is set at 65% efficiency it would output 8,665kWh.
So we are looking at very big systems with Hiiroc even with their base model size.
Apologies about the figure I quoted - didn't mean to sound alarmist. And yes, I would assume AFC would have done due diligence on this investment. If this is scaling up, there should be a prototype built at a location. It would be good to see where this work is being done.
From the RNS,
· AFC Energy is investing £100,000, payable in AFC Energy shares, into HiiROC's scaling up programme, which were allotted to HiiROC on 24 January 2020 conditional on admission to trading on AIM. AFC Energy also intends to make up to £300,000 of "in-kind" contribution to HiiROC over 12-18 months to support the development of a prototype unit.
Shay, I don't think it was £500000 in cash. Was it not in engineering support etc.
Either way, AFC should/would have done due diligence on Hiiroc
Hi Rooky - good bit of detective work ! So, should we be concerned ? If £500k has gone to an organisation that is doing research then that research must be conducted in some sort of lab or business unit ? Otherwise, on what basis would AFC part with that investment !
Thanks for the spying :-)
This is interesting.

Decided to have a look at their premises in Hull today.
Couldn't find anything referring to them on any of the new business/office complex situated at the HiiRoc address, so made enquiries at the Hull University innovations building.
The receptionist was new and had never heard of HiiRoc so made enquiries with a secretary who had been there since the building opened, she also has no knowledge..
At my behest they did a google check and were surprised when the address showed the same as the building we were in.
They then made further enquiries higher up the food chain and it appears that HiiRoc only use the premises as a registered business address.
I have posted this not because I have any suspicions re HiiRoc as I am aware they, like many companies use addresses solely for business registration, and that they are connected to Hull University, but because earlier I had posted that I would keep a watching brief to see if there was any indication of AFC, perhaps a couple of EV chargers (in the future of course).
I must add that the premises car park, has the biggest percentage of EV charges I have yet to see in any car park, unfortunately these were installed pre the AFC/HiiRoc tie up.
The site is still expanding and it would be good to see any future EV charges bearing the AFC logo.
