shorty over on the iii board just posted he not sure what caused the buying this morning. maybe oil rising the most in 3 months yesterday? d'oh! on seeing the rise he doubled his holding. mmmmmm better to have bought before the rise don't you think? will the rise be consolidated today? shorty thinks so. but oil looks to be pulling back a bit now. mmmmmm
How much longer will ophir keep up? Going down slowly but surely :/
Oil prices up so ophir up
not much volume today if you take out the large UT trade. Hopefully buyer will be back tomorrow after oil had its best day in about 3 months..(up nearly 6% off today's lows!). Got a bit of catch up to do vs. other oil stocks.
It was a monster uncrossing trade though, compared to daily volume. Don't think I've seen such a monster before, don't know if it means anything though.
Can't see any big trades - you sure it isn't just the uncrossing trade? Still in range at the moment, going to need a push to break higher - oil absolutely flying this evening though!
Another huge trade is this ever going to go up?
companies website says sept. moved by one month.
In the financial diary it states that today theres suppose to be an Interim release? http://www.lse.co.uk/financial-diary.asp
15th September for results.
Is there an interim result release today for Ophir? Thanks
less geared to the oil price though vs other oilers. but thats not such a bad thing though sometimes. just take a look at the movement in oil after the 4:30pm close. its tanking big style. hopefully OPHR won't fall so much vs other oilers. could see 65p or under again 2moro.
There was a time they were trying to merge with PMO, Ophir had the cash and they had the producing assets, but with huge debt. Premier turned the deal down. Fortuna should definitely be of interest to someone, even if many of these types of play are borderline economic at the moment, you have to consider the likely average price over the life of the field to some extent as well, not just spot price - by the time it actually comes into production its anyone's guess where oil and gas prices will be, but personally I'd expect it to be higher than today due to the effects of a lack of investment in new projects to replenish reserves starting to be felt (as they were previously when oil hit $140, although I don't see anywhere near that sort of spike this time)!
You can see this having potential bids with capitalisation
or is this share price being held back to make a bid 4 the company more promising seen this b4
Is the market pricing in that this project will not get FID in Q4? With breakeven oil price of $40 (I know its gas, but that's what they said in the RNS) it must be pretty marginal, and I'm a bit worried they haven't replaced Schlumberger yet. I presonally think it looks a bit undervalued even if that is abandoned, but doubtless the market would punish it.
Going to need a bit of a push from increased buying volume to really get it moving i think as seem to get a lot of volume added to the sell side of the book every time it looks like making a move (same yesterday at 68p when it tried to push up). I've been buying more at 66p when the chance arise and view that 64-66p area as support currently.
Now 88% upside according to Barclays lol!
Those bots are wonderful eh? Only Ophir can within a few minutes go from touching 69p to 67p!
Shares are great aren't they?! Silver up 3% HOC down 2% with everybody rushing for the door! This game makes no sense !!
x5 more sells than buys yet SP up! can't fathom this out.. most other oil stocks down today too.
still in the black I believe, may have great assets but need to put them to work
Certainly need some news here. Feels like my money has gone to sleep here, but it only takes one RNS saying they have new partner for Fortuna, then lift off perhaps. Business takes time, but come Ophir, keep us updated.
I am holding here to folks, just a case of sitting tight and waiting i think, compared tosome other oilers least this one will not have the bailifs knocking at the door anytime soon lol. I really can't understand as gas prices are well up from the start of the year, i think the market is waiting for postive info regarding equ guinea project. I must admit i can't beleave a bigger fish has not come sniffing here, not that it would help us shareholders at the mo, if someone did come in we would be lucky to get a £1 a share offer here i think. I am hoping for at least £3 longterm but i rekon i could be pushing up daisy's by then, still least it will pay for a nice headstone lol. I will carry on holding here and hope it comes good one day as its well positioned once the market finally turns whenever that might be. Good luck all
With sterlings decline against the dollar makes this like a sweatshop, billions and cash in assets for probably half the value I'm scratching my head why there isn't more m&a
