A Rise of 18 % in a little over 2 months is hardly stagnating. Wish my other holding were all ' stagnating ' to this degree !!
Is good and has built in increase. Not sure why the SP is stagnating? Any ideas anyone?
They were behind the new gov.uk website for the government and were recently heralded at parliament for this work. Decent yield at this price so hopefully people start to take notice
Thanks. Always interesting to see how people and markets react to information. I havnt seen the article of course but it has certainly sparked interest in a share that had drifted for a while now. Did the article contain news we all need to know?
Tipped in IC - explains rise.
Some big buys at high prices. Someone has woken up to kcoms potential again, unless there is news ready to break. I havn't seen any research notes or live RNS info. Let's hope it is just back to normal business! GL with this one.
Sorry about last posting was wrong. It said on google live feed and on the week ahead business news that a trading statement was due on the 30th Jan unless I cant find it there don't seem to be one.
The morning sees the trading statement release. Any ideas what we will get? Telecoms share values seem to be hit by the city without reason of late except BT because of their Voda expectations. I wish someone could explain to me how approx. 10 years ago when no divi was paid the sp was as is now. Now with a reasonable divi the price falls. New board members, expansion and agreed higher borrowing levels approved to expand...........some one must know why. Investment houses agree an sp over the £1.......I don't get it...anyone out there who can give us a clue?
Everyone is NOT leaving KCOM despite what this poster has put. I am with KCOM and have no intention of leaving. They do not have a monopoly in Hull and the surrounding area it is other companies that are reluctant to come into Hull as they would have to lay their own cabling etc.
Wow really EVERYONE? Given that kcom have complete monopoly over the hull area and have done for over 100 years where is everyone going to ? are there a lot of stubborn people in hull who simply refuse to have internet ? and seriously dont say they are moving to mobile internet, I don't know a single person on mobile internet (as their main source of internet). Everyone has broadband with an ISP and in hull its kcom.
I too live in the Hull area. I have the fibre broadband. It is terrific. Fast and never lets me down. In house gamming and the TV streaming off the connection it is great. I have been with KC for years and would never change. The customer service is the best I have ever encountered. I guess you must have an issue with them but your opinions are not shared.
As I live in Hull I am stuck with them. My internet cuts out daily. their spam filters do not work and they are very expensive. They do no react well to customer complaints .In fact they seem not to care about their customers.. Point of interest their phone book seems to half in size each year. they must be losing customers at a very high rate I am off to join Gif Gaf or any other mobile company. They do not inform their customers about scams going around. and if you have an internet problem they use the fact that they are a phone company and a separate internet provider.to confuse the customer. example they changed my phone because my internet was intermittent and slow Daah ! what idiots how can phone effect modem. Sell whilst you can their price will be halved this time next year
One of the best around .
Doing a lot of house building in Beverley+ Molsecroft Lived in Molsecroft 16 years and i popo back every now and then and was stunned at the building going on.Its all more incume for KCOM.
Not local to the Hull area. I know from my readings they have been investing heavily in the infrastructure. My opinion is that this unit at bottom line is potentially a buy for BT but suggest that there are holders who get bored with this kind of stock and like to use the cash more adventurously as they see -it creating a buying opportunity.
Anyone know why the sharp drop is happening?
29th Dec
Yes a decent dividend is all very well but one look at the downward share chart and a Peg of over 6 says all is not well in Hull
I think a good set of results would be reassuring bearing in mind the recent weakness in the stock
Good morning all. Supermarkets are cutting there divi, ours is still going up, glad im in kcom and not them.
Good spot lunatic. With the share price having dropped, it makes Kcom even more attractive ( if you have spare funds!) a cover of 1.5 is just about ok, I can't remember the debt level.
I found this on another site. "High-yield bright prospects For example, KCOM (LSE: KCOM) another telecoms company, which operates in and around Hull, currently supports a dividend yield of 5.3%. Management has stated that the company will hike its annual dividend payout by 10% per year for the next two years. Based on this commitment, during 2015 KCOM’s shares will support a divided yield of 5.8% and during 2016 the shares will support a yield of 6.4%. Current figures indicate that the payout for both 2015 and 2016 will be covered one-and-a-half times by earnings per share. Moreover, unlike Vodafone, KCOM continues to grow as the company is expanding into the broadband and services market. Growth and expansion into these markets is helping KCOM drive growth, despite falling fixed line revenues. By using this strategy, City analysts expect the company’s earnings to grow at a steady single-digit rate for the next two years. "
ridiculous in the sense that is a great yield, not because i do not understand the calculations behind a div yield - sorry if that was not clear... anyway i was wrong at 90p its more like 6% not 6.5... i topped up at 94p so got myself 5% ish yield which is nice. looing forward to the results...
The yield goes up , not the dividend.
What's ridiculous when a share price drops the divi goes up obvious
