I don’t think it’s fishy. I think they saw the Trumpy announcement coming (as did the media and most commentators) and wanted to get the contract signed before he announced. They would have known that they’d have to put it on hold, but I guess it was in the hope that the new sanctions applied on new business only - and they could claim that they’d already signed the contract under the old regime
Fowler likes fish on the menu. Caviar anyone? Red herring? Another plaice(ing)? Five years of trawling and still no additional MS contract landed.
I do believe there is a contract, however it is something extremely fishy about the timing of the "contract signing", matching Trump's press release.
That would be easy to find out, though. Those who go to the AGM...please email WSG to bring the signed contract with them. The signatures page is all we want to see....
Lol quite a few probably.
i think that's a fair assessment. i'm not saying all is rosy, i'm just saying that i think that oli90 is talking out of his/her backside.....and what i'd describe as fairly blatant attempt to deramp......which is madness because what sort of idiot trades on anonymous BB chat?
I do not think it is a case of no contract being worked on, but lack of faith in the company to forecast their future. The markets like to see forecasts that are hit and not as they say jam tomorrow. Saying all that, this share has become good to trade. So believe, disbelieve or just don’t really care, at this price it is a pretty good gamble.
oh, and if Iran despised Britain so much would it have signed a contract with a British consortium to develop an oil field? this was done on 16th May - post Trumpy's Iran tantrum. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=12053850
it's simple, if you believe that there is no contract then don't be invested. you can't possibly invest in a company where you believe that management print barefaced lies that have been signed off by the NOMAD. i'm pretty sure that management would be breaking a number of laws, not least market manipulation....and i think it would be fairly easy for the FCA to prove. i like the concept that concocting a lie about a fictitious ME contract with Iran is a "good excuse" to cover up another fictitious ME contract.... you should become a novelist.....but then again, you've only managed 2 posts in a month so maybe you're not much of a writer.
Ask them to bring the signed contract to the agm, and stick it on the wall for all to see, with accompanying company seal of course
there is no ME contract. In the past, events like, Ebola out break in west Africa , ferry break down, and host of other things, was a good excuse to cover up for managements incompetence. This time they probably did n't have a ME contract......and if they did, it could never have been Iran. Iran due to past history and total MISS TRUST of the western countries in particular US and Britain, will never in thousand years, allow there Airport security to be handled by a British firm. I tell you why; When push comes to shove EU will side with US, simple statistics EU export to US in 2017 $471 billion, and US to EU $283 billion were as EU export to IRAN only $18 billion. US export to Iran zero. (Mike G) has an Idea ! here is his post of Sun.9th of June 9.28 am: RE: All eyes..10 Jun .... if anything you would think that WSG is a company that Trump and HMG would WANT to be doing in Iran,... imagine the intel that they could collect about who is entering and exiting the country... and how the Iranian,. security systems operate etc. -Only few years ago, an embassy was torched in Tehran, it wasn't a German, French, Italian or Spanish ....Guess what... you are right..... it was British Embassy. -Boris Johnson travelled to Iran only few month ago to secure the release of a jailed Britain N Ratcliffe, but returned home empty handed and Guess what, she was eventually jailed in May 2018 for 5 years. -US embassy was stormed and close down 40 years ago, and it's still shut. -Britain sided with Iraq , during IRAN-IRAQ war which cost an estimated one million lives. Now,... do you think we have a ME contract ? could it be IRAN ? never in 1000 years. This was an easy way out for an incompetence management. Look at the waffle, vague and pathetic (very well advanced !!) RNS of 25th of may 2018 (·     Transformational fifteen-year aviation security opportunity in the Middle East with annual initial revenues of €24m very well advanced in 2017. This is a large and complex opportunity with very significant effort and progress in setting up the appropriate supply chain and infrastructure ·     Managed Services now the key focus of the Group and the pipeline of major long-term project opportunities continues to grow. Discussions in progress with governments and airport authorities in various parts of the world) It comes to mind the theme song of Dads Army, who do you think you are kidding Mr F.....R. there probably was a MOU OR LOI with a MID-east country, but they lost it and IRAN was an easy way out. I am unable to attend the AGM, but, if you are, you out crucify him call for his resignation, !
