I would agree as regards upside.
This company has been transitioning itself to comply with IFRS 15 - and it has been a long drawn out affair, investors will be rewarded in time I expect the H1 figures to be lousy, possibly a loss, but hints around stabilisation currently and a positive view for H2 would suggest to be the worst is behind us. IF H2 runs at 4p EPS I genuinely believe we could see 70p in 12 months. Brokers are absent with their view at the moment due to the uncertainty but I think that provides a great entry point before they start pumping out their research - I could see them coming back at around 80-100p once H1 figs are out. 2021 numbers are somewhat bullish and would imply a share price in the stratasphere but even if they had a reasonable stab at increasing customer numbers their share price would be north of £1 in 2021 in my opinion ! I tend to view an investment with a minimum timescale of 3 years to get traction which may be a little long for some however.

You are right.
I will readily admit to having had a slight flip flop of views..
The broadband service was launched shortly after my research uncovered it .
I will confess to having been very irritated by the last set of results and the plethora of what seemed to be nothing but bad news. I now wonder if the bad news was kitchen Sinked in order to get everything negative done and dusted.
Flollowing various UTW twitter feeds and other readily available public domain information, has led me to believe that it’s becoming a decent place to work and that perhaps I had been a bit harsh on my comments of the new CEO and that my impatience for a change of tide got the better of me .
I still think the water side of the business has been a bit of a flop and I will be amazed if 2021 customer number targets are reached. We would need to see increased customer numbers fairly soon if they are to have any chance of hitting their targets.
Having said all that, even a margainal uplift in customers numbers should be able to shift the price North from these very low levels.
I saw their iot buildings control demo at a trade show and was impressed and hope it finds its way successfully into what could be a huge market.
Therefore, having taken all that into consideration, My bet is there is more upside than downside. (At the moment and at this price)
Hopefully the next set of results won’t make me flip flop again.

you said literally 3 months ago...:

I tried to pick something positive out of it, but struggled.

The outlook is hardly inspiring, and with the ceo blaming stressed stakeholders for a poor next six months, Imwonder if he has what it takes to run a company .
Perhaps they just don£t like him ?

No way are those 2021 targets going to be hit . The water business has added nothing to the pile, , the digital advertising is obviously not pulling in punters and in comparison, Inspired energy released decent results today.

The UTW twitter header still says they do broadband when they actually don£t.

All in all, a big shoddy mess.

...talk about flip flop!

I was always of the mind that when the accounting policies were changed, that there was going to be a period of about a year of catching up to do and once UTW had come out of the other side, then things could actually start looking quite good.
If things look like they have turned around , then the price lemmings will jump on board and the price may rebound significantly.
In a nutshell, I like these dull periods, as they provide what could be a very good buying opportunity.
If they reinstate dividends at some time, we could see some fireworks.
All in all, at todays price, they look a bargain.
I hope I am right.

Ongong demand

I'm surprised that with ongoing institutional demand from Regent Gas that sell orders arent being pulled. I'm guessing it's people who have taken opportunistic positions when the price was sitting at or below 30p cashing in on a quick 20% win. It's not another institutiom selling otherwise there would be notifications right? Also, if it was an institution then they'd just do one big chunk for a few million shares and be done with it rather than drip feed it onto the market. Am hoping that the sells dry up soon and we see a decent bounce back to a more sensible valuation level. Will just wait and see though.

I thought the same, although I don't think this is a particularly popular share for individual punters and the price has historically reacted slowly to any news.

It presents a very good buying opportunity imo.

I can’t work out where they are managing to get this quantity of shares without any notifications of a large sell by anyone.

It has been obvious the last few days that they have been buying more.
It will be interesting to watch the trading patterns tomorrow.
