Deep Discount
Definition of 'Deep Discount'
Bonds which have been issued in the UK after 14th March 1989 at a discount of more than 1/2 per cent per annum or 15 per cent total are said to have a deep discount, and the discount is to be taxed as income. No such bonds have yet been issued.
