Local Shopping REIT plc ("the Company") - Transactions in Own Shares

Local Shopping REIT plc announces that on 14 January 2009 it cancelled 675,000 ordinary shares held in treasury.

The Company further announces that on 14 January 2009 it purchased from JPMorgan Cazenove Limited 605,000 ordinary shares at a price of 33 pence per share.  All of the purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.

Following the above cancellation and purchase, The Local Shopping REIT plc holds 9,164,017 ordinary shares in treasury and has 82,505,853 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
