M&G High Income Investment Trust P.L.C. (M&G HIT) announces that on 06 April 2009 it purchased and cancelled 150,000 M&G HIT Package Units at a price of 89p per Package Unit. This represents 0.08% of M&G HIT's issued share capital.

To date, a total of 2,275,000 Package Units have been purchased and cancelled by M&G HIT resulting in a current issued share capital of 196,748,306 Zero Dividend Preference Shares, 196,748,306 Income Shares, and 196,748,306 Capital Shares.
