Trading update: Year ended 31 March 2010

Electrocomponents plc, the leading international high service distributor, has today issued a trading update for the year ended 31 March 2010.

Since the Group's Interim Management Statement on 5 February 2010 sales growth rates have increased further in both February and March. As a result we anticipate that headline profit before tax for the full year to 31 March 2010 will be above expectations and around £73m.

In the quarter ended 31 March 2010 Group sales grew by around 15% with the International business growing by around 19% and the UK by around 9%. Within the International business Europe sales grew by around 12%, North America by around 28% and Asia Pacific by around 26%. Group e-Commerce revenue grew by around 33%.

Ian Mason, Group Chief Executive, commented:"I am pleased to report that the Group's sales growth has increased throughout the final

quarter of the year with sales growing by around 15%.

We are continuing to strengthen our electronics, maintenance and e-Commerce offers ensuring that we are well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities in our markets".
