Resignation of Vice President

The board of directors (the "Board") of China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. (the "Company" or "CPIC") has recently received a written resignation letter from a vice president of the Company, Mr. Zhao Yonggang ("Mr. Zhao"). Mr. Zhao has resigned from his position as a vice president of the Company due to the adjustment of his work arrangement.

The resignation letter of Mr. Zhao became effective on the date when it reached the Board. Mr. Zhao has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the Board and that there is no other matter in relation to his resignation that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company.

The Company would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Zhao for his contribution to the Company during his tenure of service.
