IDOX's Electronic Document and Records Management software and Web Publicationsoftware will be implemented, as part of a national planning reform programme,across 16 Planning Authorities in Scotland. This will enable authorities tocapture and publish planning applications and associated documents online toprovide improved public engagement and efficiency in the planning process. Inmaking this decision, these authorities will be amongst 332 UK authorities usingIDOX Software products, of which 145 are already using existing e-planningsolutions. The e-planning programme will deliver a step change in the way that Planningservices are delivered in Scotland. The programme consists of four phases ofwhich this contract, Online Planning Information Systems, is the second. IDOX isalready delivering technology for the Scottish Online Planning Applications andAppeals System, the first phase of the programme. As a result of IDOX's delivery to the programme, members of the public will beable to submit and monitor applications online, and local authorities will beable to publish them and invite public representation during the applicationprocess. The proven technology underpinning this contract has already helped totransform business processes in Local Government and delivered cost savings andefficiency benefits.
