NCSP Group Volumes up 6.7% y-on-y to 62.6 mln tonnes for 5M 2016

NCSP Group (LSE: NCSP, MOEX: NMTP) hereby reports, that its consolidated cargo turnover in January-May 2016 increased 6.7% year on year and reached 62.6 million tonnes.

Liquid cargo volumes were up 5.7% year-on-year and totaled 48.9 million tonnes, bulk cargo increased 14.5% year-on-year up to 5.0 million tonnes, general cargo grew 7.0% year-on-year an amounted to 6.3 million tonnes, and container cargo was up 10% year-on-year totaling 2.3 million tonnes or 210 thousand TEU.

Commenting on the operating results for 5M 2016, CEO of PJSC NCSP Sultan Batov said: «At the end of five months of 2016 total volumes' growth rate sped up by 1.4 percent points versus that of the 4M 2016. Growth rates of crude oil, coal, and ferrous metals volumes also accelerated by 3.2; 2.2; and 2 percent points respectively».

Liquid cargo

Liquid cargo volumes increased by 2 645 thousand tonnes or 5.7% year-on-year and totaled 48 928 thousand tonnes in January-May 2016.

Crude oil volumes rose by 2 567 thousand tonnes and reached 34 434 thousand tonnes. Volumes growth rate accelerated up to 8.1% year-on-year, versus 4.8% year-on-year for January-April 2016.

Volumes of oil products and UAN did not change materially and comprised 14 129 thousand tonnes and 238 thousand tonnes respectively. Seed oils volumes totaled 128 thousand tonnes.

Bulk cargo

Transshipment of bulk cargo in the reporting period increased by 638 thousand tonnes or 14.5% year-on-year and totaled 5 029 thousand tonnes.

Volumes of grain were up by 237 thousand tonnes or 11.2% year-on-year and reached 2 357 thousand tonnes. Transshipment of grain in May versus April 2016 reduced due to the shortage of volumes as exporters wrap up trading grain of the season 2015-2016 and prepare for trading the new harvest.

Iron ore volumes increased by 519 thousand tonnes or 76.3% year-on-year up to 1 201 thousand tonnes.

Transshipment of coal increased by 53 thousand tonnes up to 684 thousand tonnes. Transshipment growth rate accelerated to 8.4% year-on-year versus 6.2% year-on-year for January-April 2016.

Volumes of chemical cargo and sugar totaled 451 thousand tonnes and 337 thousand tonnes respectively.

General cargo

General cargo grew by 412 thousand tonnes or 7.0% year-on-year and totaled 6 328 thousand tonnes.

Volumes of ferrous metals and pig iron increased by 569 thousand tonnes and reached 5 531 thousand tonnes. Volumes growth rate accelerated to 11.5% year-on-year, versus 9.4% year-on-year for 4M 2016.

Transshipment pf non-ferrous metals, timber, perishable, and other cargo comprised 451 thousand tonnes, 213 thousand tonnes, and 133 thousand tonnes respectively.

Container cargo

NCSP Group's container traffic in January-May 2016 comprised 2 304 thousand tonnes or 210 thousand TEU, up 10.0% year-on-year in tonnes and 5.0% year-on-year in TEU.
