Faroe Petroleum PLC17 May 2006 17 May 2006 Faroe Petroleum plc ("Faroe Petroleum", "Faroe" or the "Company") North Halibut Drilling Update Faroe Petroleum, the oil and gas exploration Company with a portfolio of 15licenses in the Faroes, West of Shetland and the North Sea, announces that thedrilling of the North Halibut 14/21a-A well in the North Sea commenced today.The well is being operated by Oilexco North Sea Limited which will incur 80% ofthe costs associated with the well work programme, in return for the right to anequity interest of 55% on satisfying the well obligation.
