Melrose Resources PLC31 March 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 31 March 2008 Melrose Resources plc ("the Company") Director/PDMR shareholding Melrose Resources plc (LSE:MRS) announces that on 28 March 2008 it received notification from Appleby Trust (Jersey) Limited (the 'Trustee') in its capacity as trustee of the Melrose Resources plc Employee Benefit Trust (the 'Trust') that on 28 March 2008 the Trustee purchased 100,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at a price of 293.8 pence per share. This represents the entire holding of the Trust in the share capital of the Company and equates to 0.09% of the current issued share capital of the Company. The Trust was established to facilitate the operation of the Melrose Resources plc Performance Share Plan (the 'Plan') and it is intended that the shares purchased by the Trust will be used to satisfy awards under the Plan. In accordance with DTR 3.1.4 of the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the undernoted Executive Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibilities ("PDMRs") of the Company have an interest in the shares acquired by the Trustee as they are potential beneficiaries of the Trust.
