British American Tobacco PLC07 April 2005 DIRECTORS' SHAREHOLDINGS - CORRECTION As a result of an administrative error, the total number of British AmericanTobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the "Shares") held by the independenttrustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trust were understated inthe Company's announcement made on 5 April 2005. The total number of Shares held by the independent trustee of the BritishAmerican Tobacco Group Employee Trust should have been stated in the Company'sannouncement made on 5 April 2005 as being 23,210,345.
