Talvivaara Mining Company Plc ("the Company"), was notified on 30 June 2008 that, between 24 and 27 June 2008, Pekka Pera, Chief Executive Officer, sold 2,000,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 382p each. 

Saila Miettinen-Lahde, Chief Financial Officer, sold a total of 80,000 ordinary shares in the Company on 26 and 27 June 2008 at an average price of 377p each. Jyrso Oy, a company in which Jari Lahde, her husband, holds a 70% interest, sold a total of 20,000 ordinary shares on 26 and 27 June 2008 at an average price of 375p each. 

Following these transactions, Pekka Pera holds a total beneficial interest in the Company of 58,043,960 shares, representing 26.04% of the voting rights attached to the issued ordinary share capital of the Company. The total beneficial interest of Saila Miettinen-Lahde is 818,640 shares, representing 0.37% of the voting rights. 

The proceeds of the share sales will be used to pay tax liabilities and mortgages of family properties of the respective Directors.
