Sampo / Holding(s) in Company* 12.12.2008 08:55 Dissemination of a UK Regulatory Announcement, transmitted byDGAP - a company of EquityStory AG.The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.--------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAMPO PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 12 December 2008 at 09:55am DISCLOSURE UNDER CHAPTER 2 SECTION 9 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT Sampo plc (business code 0142213-3) has on 11 December 2008 received a disclosure under Chapter 2, Section 9 of the Securities Markets Act, according to which the total number of Sampo A shares and related voting rights owned by the State of Finland has on 11 December 2009 fell below one twentieth (1/20) andthe total number of Sampo A shares and related voting rights owned by the entirely state-owned Solidium Oy (business code 0142213-3) risen above one tenth(1/10) of Sampo plc's entire stock and voting rights. The changes in ownerships are due to transferring the shares to Solidium Oy as acontribution in kind in compliance with the Finnish Limited Liability Companies act. Sampo announced the State of Finland's plan to transfer the shares to Solidium Oyj on 23 October 2008. After the transfer of the shares has been completed the State of Finland holds no Sampo plc's shares.
