Chairman's Update on Trading

In the continued difficult economic conditions and turmoil, trading has been difficult but in the circumstances satisfactory.

The Group has had to make further difficult decisions and cost cuts to allow the Group to be leaner and fitter to exploit the eventual upturn.

A number of the subsidiaries are showing early signs of improved trading. The Board however remains cautious as to the timing of the expected upturn in trading.
